You all are telling me that you'd make Steve Shipp an OC with just some HS experience? Please, provide me some form of justification so I can make sense of this.

Shipp may be a good young high school assistant but he is not on my wish list nor is he ready by a long shot as the OC.

Honestly, he's better than what we have now.
That being said, I don't think he'd do well under this staff and I know he wouldn't be interested.
There are a ton of experienced coaches that are out of work and would be more than happy to work at A&T. With the knowledge of Fobbs' previous hires in hand, I don't expect him to reach out to any of them. And that's a shame.

You can take Billy Joe of the list. He just got the Head Job at Miles.

I don't think Knotts would accept the position but it's worth a try. I'd also consider Jon Strong who was a longtime offensive coordinator for Knotts teams. I think he retired last year and is just teaching now. I would bring Steve Shipp aboard as wr coach.

I'm suprised more critics of last year's offense haven't chimed in yet on who they think should be chosen to revamp it.

Personally, i do not support ANY high school coach going directly to college OC. That is a much bigger jump than most of you are making it out to be. Knotts wont have better athletes than anybody A&T plays. he wont have the benifit of playing schools that go 1-deep at each position, so you can keep wearing the same chump out.
OC position should go to a proven coach. He doesn't neccesarily have to be and OC, but at least a college coach.

You know Hampton's old o.c. went from high school coach to college o.c. Granted, he had like eight pros on the team but still. I think we need somebody to teach and stress fundamentals and somebody that can make an in-game adjustment. I can't name anybody like that in the MEAC.

Do you seriously think Knotts could be any worse than what we have right now? If anything, he should be the head coach.

He still has not coached on the college level and like I've said before, Knotts normally puts better athletes on the field, so who's to say how good he actually is? Not taking from what the man has done on a high school level, but high school defensive schemes are nothing compared to what he would see and not to mention you wont have the best athletes in the conference to make up for your short commings. Its a bad idea to bring in a high school coach as OC is all I'm saying. Do you even know if he was the one calling all the plays? Never mind, it doesn't matter. Bad idea.
