... ...Game Zone is about revenue at the end of the day. Whatever combination that we need to do to make it profitable needs to be done. Even if that means as we've all said before, "Game Zone only" passes. The question is how to make that work at the gates for those people who want to go in and out of the stadium. This "Double Perimeter" concept just might be a viable option for Aggie Athletics (or not). However, one thing it will do is double the amount of money you have to spend to pay security personnel and ticket-takers at two (2) sets of entrances.

I wonder if season and general admission ticket prices will go up an extra 10-15% for next year due to the success of team plus with home games like NCCU and Elon

i agree, our ticket prices are absolutely too high and i think its a major contributor to low attendance. i don't remember the exact year that they jacked up homecoming prices "way too high" above what it use to be. but it was during the hayes era and before they put the new track down. ever since they jacked up the prices, we probably only had a few sellouts for homecoming after that. but before they jacked up the prices, we use to have "overflow" crowds at homecoming every year. we'd bring in extra bleachers to accommodate the excess, we're "easily" talkin' 23k or 24k or more at homecoming. but i distinctly remember the year they jacked up the prices (i think dee todd did it) it was the first time i'd ever seen a homecoming game that didn't sellout. it use to be so bad that you couldn't even buy a homecoming game ticket on the day of the game because they'd always sellout before then. homecoming sellouts have never been the same since they jacked up the ticket prices...

I wonder if season and general admission ticket prices will go up an extra 10-15% for next year due to the success of team plus with home games like NCCU and Elon It's my belief that season tickets were actually too cheap this year but I guess that was the objective. Anyways I don't see another price increase coming with fewer games. I think a price decrease would also be a mistake. This year we simply had to many games which adversely affected average attendance. We will still finish #2 amongst all HBCU's in total attendance. Gotta be very careful before lowering prices. A drop of just $5 may mean we have to sell an average of 3,000 more tickets per game to cover the decrease in revenue. Can we sell 3,000 more tickets er game by droping the price by five bucks? I sincerely doubt it right now. Also if you drop general admission tickets to much it will hurt season ticket sales. The best value should always be on season tickets so I'd suggest an increase of 10% on general admission tickets and a decrease of 10% on season tickets.

I think ticket prices will increase next year. Press box gotta be paid for and with the decrease in guarantee basktball games, those dollars have to be made up. Personally, I've always thought our prices were too high. Auxillary services drives that bus more than you guys realize. (In terms of higher ticket prices)

You have to balance single game tickets against season tickets. Single game tickets cant be so low that it makes the season ticket price seem stupid. Season ticket holders have to feel as if they are getting a decent deal for buying a season ticket. If you make games $15($30 homecoming and nccu) with reserves being $25/$40 and there are only 5 home games then what would season tickets have to be?
They have to be cheaper than $155 because that's what I'm paying if I go to every home game without a season ticket and sit reserved. And I would actually come out cheaper buying single games because I wouldn't buy reserved for the Del States or the Morgans, etc, etc.
So we cant lower prices. The product just has to catch up and marketing just has to get better.

I can only speak for myself, but A&T could have easily gotten at least $200 more from my circle of friends and family this season if the tickets were under $20 for general admission. There were numerous times when my wife and her girl friends seriously considered coming to a game but they thought $25 was highway robbery for team as sorry as A&T. They don't know much about football but they know the value of $25 and they did not think a non-Homecoming game at Aggie Stadium warranted that price.
I even had numerous people in my neighborhood, at my barber shop and around town, state their interest in coming to a game, but when I told them general admission was $25 and tickets for any kid over the age of 4 were $10, they began to add up the costs in their head and they probably felt that money could be better spent elsewhere.
Right now it costs a family of four at least $70 to attend a A&T regular season game. If you are a working man or woman with no immediate ties to the university, that is a lot of money to spend for three and a half hours of mediocre football. I truly believe the community wants to support A&T athletics ... but we have to meet them halfway.
You can't just continue to raise prices and try to make money off the 2% of Aggie fans who are the diehards. Everybody who is reading this site probably would not balk at paying $25 or more for a A&T football game because obviously that is what we are passionate about. However, there are many people at our jobs or church or neighborhoods who would likely join us at the games if the price point was more marketable.

Thrilla, we cant lower prices. I dont think they should be raised right now either, but once you go there you cant lower them. What we can do is work on more group deals that are community based. Stuff like Church groups/Pop Warner orgs can by tickets at half price if they are buying 10 or more per game. Maybe even some of the businesses that employ all those recent A&T grads and part time students. Places like APAC, AT&T, American Express, and Bank of America can get package deals. High school students should always get a discount.
I think we do a lot of this stuff already, but we could always get better at it. One thing I think we are terrible at is just displaying the price up front. I shouldn't have to hunt for what I'm going to have to pay for my 8 year old. Next to the schedule should be a "Ticket Price" link, so I can add up what the final tally is going to be with some confidence.
For example, right now I have to go about 5 clicks in before I see the price I have to pay for my child at an A&T basketball game. And that was after clicking on the little bitty link in the footer of the website. Should have been a "buy tickets" button on the schedule, next to the game I wanted to attend.

We can do whatever we want to do.
There is no rule that says if you overprice your general admission tickets one year, you can't correct that mistake the next year.

even though i feel our prices are too high, i agree that we shouldn't lower them now because it would devalue our product. but we certainly shouldn't raise ticket prices, they should be "frozen" until the demand catches up with our prices.
when they "jacked up" prices in the past, there was a very high demand for aggie football. but we out priced the demand instead raising prices just enough to maintain the demand...
