In addition as I pause before typing - what about Robinson that was on Bibbs staff ? I think he played ball at T ? i think a good college coach has to have the total package, but to me its "critical" that a college coach (not necessarily his assistants) must be an excellent recruiter. assistants come and go, that's why i say not necessarily his assistants. in fact, recruiting would be the number 1 attribute that i'd look for when hiring a college coach. not saying that's the only attribute, just that its the most important. other attributes such as x's and o's, fundamentals, player development, winning track record, etc., are also important. but in college coaching, you must be able to recruit or else you won't be a consistent winner. that's what makes robinson an interesting candidate. not sure about his other attributes, but we've been told he's an excellent recruiter...

And if people really wanted to get rid of Eaves....they should become real Aggies and give the BIG $$$ to allow the university and athletics dept to write that check.. ;D People give what they can. Just cause someone else gives 10K doesn't make them any more real of an Aggie than the guy that can only afford season tickets. ......what was even the basis for that comment I've never said I'm more of an Aggie than anyone else, because I can give $10K+. Stick to the topic. ......the major question is do Aggies believe Jerry Eaves has Aggie basketball moving in the correct direction for the future. If you do ---- end of discussion If you don't ---- make you opinions known. If there are enough people out there who are serious about replacing him, donate whatever you can to make it happen. I'm fed up with him. If there are 500 other Aggies fed up with him, you simply cannot tell me we cannot get together and buy out the last year of his contract.....if Hilton needs our help to do so. I'm simply fed up with the mediocrity and cannot watch another year of this man struggling to make us only average. All this "who's a real Aggie" and who can give more than another is IRRELEVANT.... DOES THE MAN DESERVE TO GO OR NOT - JUST STICK TO THE TOPIC....

I didn't start the "real aggie" comment. I was just replying to it. 10K was just a number I used. chill out! You sound like Grant Hill.
And whether he was joking or not(and he probably was) AggieGroove was the one that said it.

Yes, I said real Aggies and was joking.....most guys on this site know me! So chill out Bruh! Like other folks here, I generally back up my talk with support.....I'm out and I have the same goal in mind as you....seeing Aggies basketball get back to the good old glory from the past.

The reason I commented is because I dont want people to think $2 is not appreciated. Whether its $2 or $2000, its all needed.
I knew what Groove was saying. Its all good though. I understand your passion NSS.

Who cares about N C State, Carolina or Duke. Carolina & Duke don't have to recruit. They have all the damn money and publicity. Sidney Lowe had players but can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag. Now back to Eaves, he can't coach either and that is evident by his MEAC won - lost record. We may not have top notch players or the money or support but that does not let Eaves off the hook. Just look at his decision making in games, his preparation, his savy, smartness and mental toughness - below average. He has sub par assistants which he fails to get rid of and try new people. He does graduate his players and that is a plus. However, his coaching record is horrible and he is never seen "ANYWHERE" in the community after basketball season. He is a recluse. One other thing - he can't recruit either - he can't relate to young players with talent.

Regardless he will be Coaching the team this year. Most certainally this is the last straw. He will need impressive results this year to return for 2012 / 13 season.
I think Eaves is well aware hence the reason no high school recruits all new players are prep school / jr. college players. You are correct his personality probably does not fit A&T; but all that is mute when you are winning games. As example, Corbett was not the life of the party neither was he highly visble around town; but he won and gave the alumni a product we were drawn to.
Bill Hayes fit the personality of a Aggie coach.

SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT "BILL" PROFESSOR ... HE HAS BEEN A WINNER EVERYWHERE HE HAS GONE. hmmmm! I understand what the Professor is saying. So, just to make sure I undertand what you are saying, is it OK to commit immoral acts as long as you winning?
