So Beatdowns Unlimited is opening up at home against Auburn ... and Jerry's Kids are opening up at home against Brevard College ... followed by somebody named Davis & Elkins. Hmmm ..... did you stop to think why the ladies only have 1 home gm. until conference play... i tip my hat off to auburn... they don't mind going to an opponents gym... but i also understand the economics of womens bball... its cheeper for auburn to play us home & home... than for them to pay for our travel to alabama 2yrs straight...

Beatdowns Unlimited only has one home before January 16 because they are playing in major tournaments and against national heavyweights.
Beatdowns Unlimited could easily schedule Bennett College and the High Point YMCA B league all stars, but the Daughter would rather compete against the best in the country and prepare her team for March Madness.
That is how you earn 14 seeds and higher come tournament time.

Man Thrilla, it couldn't be said any better!!!!
I swear Eaves could commit a murder on the strip at homecoming and some of these cats would run to his defense. It doesn't matter how dumb they look or how weak their argument is.

You can't put a dollar amount on the contributions Bibbs has made to this university. But the positive national publicity we garnered during last March and April was probably worth a couple of hundred grand by itself. Go try to buy a front page ad on ESPN.com and tell me how much that costs. Go try to buy a 30 second commercial slot on ESPN and CBS and tell me how much that cost. Go try to buy some premium ad space in the News & Record.
We got all of that stuff for free because of what the Daughter of Man accomplished.

the point i'm making is that you can't compare the way bibbs schedules to the way eaves schedules because the university dictates how eaves schedules... the money is in mens bball... & even with the d-2 schools on eaves schedule... his strength of schedule is still probably tops in the meac... if you want to blame someone for how eaves schedules... put the blame on phil mcAlphine... after all he is " director of athletic development " isn't he... ask the "director of athletic development " why our mens bball program still has to play guaranteed gms but yet a&t reports us spending more than hampton on mens bball to the dept of education... ask " the director of athletic development "... if we spend as much on mens bball as hampton... then why isn't our mens bball schedule as balanced as hamptons... .... { thanks decks... i knew that dept of education report would serve a noble cause sooner or later... }

Delusional.

Not delusional, but when you have no income coming in and the university depends on the program to bring in funds, what do you expect.
Remember, the football team can't play FBS schools because our APR is under 825. Money has got to come from somewhere

The NCCU game would draw another packed house like the WSSU match-up.
That game would out-draw all of our current non-conference home games combined.

if you want to see your programs get better... hold the people accountable who can make it happen... the administration... aggies have "played" administration... administration has "played" the fans... but the kids & the coaches are the ones who end up suffering... heres another ? i have for our "director of athletic developing"... in winter time... why does shumates kids have to take batting practice in the cold & in the snow... why isn't there a facility on campus to house batting cages so these kids can develop at a quicker rate... why hasn't an a&t official talked to city officials about upgrading war memorial stadium to include indoor batting cages & pitching facilities... if we had those type of facilities maybe... just maybe... our kids could get off to better starts in feb. & march... but to these ??s i've just asked... shumate has no control over this... but the "suits" in dowdy do...

Back to the question. Who or what prevents Eaves from scheduling NCCU?

Back to the question. Who or what prevents Eaves from scheduling NCCU? eaves could schedule nccu if he elects... now back to my ?... why is eaves the only coach under contract to make the university money... by doing this not only does he have to make money for the school... but he also has to look out for his kids... the d-2 schools are there so the kids can catch a break... as far as the fans go... you come to the gms & cheer for a victory... regardless of the opponent... alot of people were at aggie stadium last yr. to see us break the losing streak against jcsu... now we could have been playing a bcs team for a big payday... but instead... we were paying jcsu for a win...

Whatever. Look at the last 5-10 regular season and conference champions' schedules and tell me who has cupcakes like we do.
The bottom line is that we're not doing what winners in our own conference do. And in its simplest form, that is idiotic. It doesn't matter what else you say. When you don't do what winners do, then you are, at best, doing a good job on eventually being a loser.
Period. Stop making excuses for a losing strategy.

Gang,
I don't have any problems with our basketball schedule. Michigan is playing Delaware State in football. Are you upset at Michigan for doing so? Let's face it, Delaware State isn't even a conference champion and definitely not a national champion as Appalachian State was when Michigan played them a few years ago.
Personally, I don't see the difference, more power to us. Let's face it we have a tough non-conference schedule. Almost a third of our games against schools such as Tennessee, Miami, etc and they are all away games which may mean a lot of loses. So what if we get a couple wins against D-II schools.
