I heard this some time ago and decided to wait to see if anyone up here would say anything about it, but it's been quiet. But I heard that Bibb's top assistant/associate head coach was getting a new gig. Can any of you substantiate that? Maybe it's on the private boards or something, because I know for a fact that some of the alumni powers have heard the same thing.
If it's true, what do you all think about this?

I wouldn't be surprised. Great coaches beget great coaches.
Just look at the Bill Walsh family tree.
Kinda sounded like Bibbs was hinting around about something like that at the Rib Fest, but I personally don't know anything for certain.

She was asked about an assistant possibly leaving at the Aggie Club meeting last week.
She replied that it was possible. Someone had approached her about talking to an assistant.
Hey I hope we all have aspirations of progressing in our careers. Coaches too!!!!
I can't begrudge him/her for that.
You've got to put food on the table, if someone gets an opportunity to advance wish them well and give someone else a chance.

If true, isn't Hampton's old coach available?

If true, isn't Hampton's old coach available? If so, that will be the beginning of the end. Let's just face it. Losing Robinson would be a HUGE blow to this program. You know all that talent like, Mona, Brittanie, Amber, Tweet, etc., well guess who brought them in? Who do you think took care of the recruiting class coming in? I mean, it's safe to say that there hasn't been a talent accumulation like that in the history of the league. I think there is cause for concern if this turns out to be true (that he's leaving).

Robinson leaving would definitely hurt the program, but Bibbs has, and always will be able to recruit. We will be fine.

Great news for Coach Robinson if this is true. He has worked hard and been a wonderful asset to this program.
I am glad the Daughter of Man is developing a coaching lineage. That is yet another example of greatness.

Robinson did all the recruiting. To her credit, she did hire Robinson, but you will EXTREMELY hard pressed to name one player she brought in. Rumor has it that the kids were devastated.

Anytime a popular assistant coach leaves a program the players will surely miss him, but you are crazy if you don't think Bibbs will be able to continue this dynasty. Robinson was a great coach and he deserves all the success he gets. But Beatdowns Unlimited will still be Beatdowns Unlimited as long as Patricia Cage-Bibbs is here.
When she leaves, that's when you can start worrying.

lol, you can believe that if you want. Gary Williams believed it too, until Dickerson went to Tulane. He brought in Dixon, Wilcox, Steve Francis etc. Now look at Maryland.
You gotta have a guy that can go get it to win like we have the last couple of years. These last couple of years have been the best in her career, and all I'm saying is that you know, I know, and she knows that Robinson was one of the main reasons why.
He is the primary reason I would never mention Bibbs in a post without adding "and staff". She'll be aight, but this isn't a small thing.

from Basketballscoop.com (Women); Robinson could be a candidate for the Fayetteville State's headcoaching job.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday April 15, 2009 (Update 2) VCU: We hear that VCU has an assistant spot open. More to come on this…
Tuesday April 21, 2009 (Update 2) Indiana: Sources tell BasketballScoop that Indiana head coach Felicia Legette-Jack has hired Amaka Agugua from VCU. Agugua played for Legette-Jack at Hofstra.
Tuesday April 21, 2009 Fayetteville St.: Head coach Eric Tucker has decdied to retire. No word yet on a successor. Tucker has been head coach since 1992 and his team reached the D-II Tournament this season.

There's a lot of things I'll debate on this board but the coaching acumen of Patrica Cage-Bibbs is not one of them. Her resume is too lengthy and you are not that dumb.I love shock threads as much as the next person, but c'mon dude. You are just getting silly now.
Coach Robinson was hired by Bibbs to do a job and he was excellent in it. He deserves all the prosperity coming his way. Coach Murray is another excellent coach would I could see moving on in the near future.

I'm not saying she's gonna be Eaves. The program won't fall off completely because of the foundation he has helped to lay. But c'mon. Tweet (Robinson's hometown), Brittanie (POY), Mona, Sams. These players are here because of Robinson and Robinson only. Have you talked to these ladies? Do you realize that one or two hadn't even talked to anyone else except Robinson when they signed. Bibbs doesn't know what cars their mothers drive, what they're living room looks like etc.....
Furthermore, Robinson was the lone guy on the staff that was truly Aggie bred. He can tell the recruits/parents stories about Cooper, Corbett etc. He knows professors, personally, in some of these buildings where these kids want to major. Bibbs was a winner when she got here......but she never won like she did when Robinson was by her side. That's something you can't overlook for one minute. And...............that's why the big boys have come calling.
Don't sleep.
