I thought this was the year we were supposed to take a significant step toward being on the level of Akron? So far this team is underacheiving. No this was not the year for that. This is supposed to be the year we go to the MEAC championship game(not necessarily win it but go). Last year we won because of Steven Rush. This year teams have figured out who he is and the whole team has to perform. A winning season would be a good year. Remember last year's record was a losing one.

Max I think this is the year most of us were expecting the team to turn the corner but at the rate they're going they may not finish above .500 this year either.

Chill out on the basketball team; they just played several ranked teams on there home court. They will finish above .500 and contend for the MEAC championship. Let Eaves work on the problems they are having; we are finally starting to build a BB program. We aren't where we want to be and far from where we were.

No one is necessarily expecting them to beat ranked opponents, however most of us would like to see them be a lil more competitive. I don't think that's asking to much of a senior dominated team.

That has beaten teams like SMU and DePaul on the road....Deck is right, we should been more competitive in these games against ranked teams!

the more i read eaves quotes from the akron game the madder i get.... we were.. where akron is now under corbett... except for being able to pay guaranteed money..... but who were these clowning negroes that killed our basketball program.... ? i bet some of the same negroes still clowning... that killed our football program.... if all-state..nationwide or geico offered clown insurance like on the "tom joyner morning show" our revenue sports would be in great shape...!!!!!!!!! eaves has done a yoemens job with no help from administration.... his 1st yr. here he had 4 scholarships... his 2nd yr. he had 8... so before we expect this team to compete with 4 top 25 teams with 3 teams in the top 10 on a nite in nite out basis.... let's do remember we do have a long ways to go.... eaves next step is to be able to recruit kids who will press the veterans for valuable playing time... that will let the upperclassmen know they had better seriously work on their game in the off season... because they won't know who eaves is bringing in... all they will know is it's going to be hot shot freshmen expecting to play...... but then again with a $20,000 recruiting budget... they will know who eaves can bring in.... & they have nothing to worry about.......

I thought this was the year we were supposed to take a significant step toward being on the level of Akron? So far this team is underacheiving. akron paid us $65,000 to play them... they are light yrs. ahead of us...... we will be on their level when we don't have to play money games anymore.... then we can schedule some of these teams on a home & home basis... or payout guaranteed money ourselves.... that's what everyone wants isn't it.....

Bibbs works under the same constraints, yet she managed to bring in top recruiting classes and finish above .500 in only her second year. I guess thats what makes her special.

bibbs is not working with the same budget eaves has. she has more scholarship and travel money than eaves. also her assistant coaches make money so don't go praise bibbs unless you no what coach eaves is working with

So you're saying Bibbs has a larger recruiting budget than Eaves? Aren't Eaves assistants paid as well?

How does Bibbs have more scholarships and travel money than Eaves? Doesn't the men's program have a larger budget than the women's? I thought Eaves had more assistants than Bibbs? Can someone explain?

Everybody is just speculating. None of us know for sure what kind of money either program is getting. One thing for sure is Bibbs is getting more results from whatever money the women's prgram is getting than the results that Eaves is getting from the money the men's program is getting.
