He's also not a weapon, at least as of right now. I guess he'll come around.

Eaves said on the Radio Last thurs. that everybody is going to start at sompoint untill they play with the "urgency" he was looking for all the time. He's trying to avoid complaency. And what difference does it make who starts as long as we win in the end.

Cause, we are not playing a Southern Va. every night and sometimes you need to start off strong on teams and also finish strong at the end.

So the other people on the bench don't give you that?

I said that he has some quality guys on the bench all I am saying is that Porter is trash. He needs to be at the end of the bench playing one position.

Is Porter really trash? I thought I saw some decent stats posted to him; I'll be watching him much closer the next time they play. In my opinion Trey Chapman is the one that is not meeting my expectations; he's listed as G/F, a senior, gets a lot of playing time, and rarely gets into double digits. I believe he is the weak link; we need a sure double digit night from him every game.

Ok so with the exception of one player it dosen't really amtter who starts the game then does it as long as they play good defense and stay within the offense we should be ok. right?

For what it's worth, I agree. The problem is not who starts or not. Anyone will tell you that it is about who finishes. The biggest problem is that too many people play. No one really knows what to expect from game to game. Look at Ewing's face every time he comes out. It's frustrating as a player. If you think about it, there are an extremely small amount of teams that win consistently while playing more than 8 players. For the most part, we play at least 9 or 10 each night. Sorry for the long post.

I am befuddle on why Trey can't hit more baskets. When he goes up for his shot, he looks good but the ball won't fall for him. His shots seems to normally hit the front of the rim or the back of rim. Go figure.

Let me rephrase my original statement: When was the last time you saw the "poster boy" for ANY sports team NOT start?? All I'm asking is if Rush is supposed to be our best player, why is it that he doesn't start. You can posit your various theories on how important a starting lineup is and how the most important thing is the end product (a victory)....but anyone who has ever played sports or knows something about the innerworkings of a team KNOWS that coaches start players who they believe can be the catalysts to wins. They start players who they feel have earned the respect of their teamates, they start players based on their talent, and they start players who they feel give them the best matchup.
After observing the preseason hype both this season and last, I just wondered why the guy who was promoted and publicized the most didn't start regularly. Now if he wants to come of the bench then that says alot about him...in my opinion. And if he has now begun to start more then maybe Eaves is changing up his philosophy or has seen something from Rush that would suggest he needs to be on the floor early and more often.

freeze... if you haven't noticed... rush is struggling & no-one else has figured out how to step up & pick up the slack... playing the power schools has exposed our lack of ball handling skills... what our kids need to do is clear their heads of all thoughts that has creeped in that doesn't belong... like the nba... or pledging... or all-american... clear our heads & just play basketball for the fun of it...........

eaves quote after the akron game: " i told my team before the game that this was a team we want to be like someday, to emulate. they're disciplined & that's a credit to they're coach. they do what they're asked to do, & that's a credit to both their coach & their university. where they are now is where i want north carolina a&t to be one day. we've come a long way since i've been here, but we have a ways to go."
a coaches dream.... one all aggies should share......

I thought this was the year we were supposed to take a significant step toward being on the level of Akron? So far this team is underacheiving.
