This is terrible marketing.
CBS would not want to air UNC vs Duke if no students were on campus.
This has the potential to be best game atmosphere we have all season and you are gonna waste it during winter break.

December 28th is a wild date for this game to happen.

December 28th at 2PM.
Dammit. We have so many unforced errors in our athletic department.

December 28th at 2PM. Dammit. We have so many unforced errors in our athletic department. To be fair, this was most likely created by a TV network that wanted to carry the game. When you start dealing with TV execs, they box you into some dates and decisions athletic departments wouldn't otherwise make.

We still had to agree to the deal. If CBS wanted A&T in a HBCU matchup on Dec 28, we could have gotten WSSU to fill that spot - which would have had a similar impact.

CIAA teams can still schedule non-conference games in the month of December.
Last year WSSU had a break in their schedule from Dec. 16 to Jan. 4.
They would have loved to come to Corbett this year on Dec. 28 for a paycheck and national exposure.

I doubt CBS would be interested in airing us face off against a D2 program.

Why would they care? Especially if it draws the same amount of people to Corbett that day.
They are just interested in the potential entertainment value.
WSSU went 19-9 last year and we went 7-25.
Hell, WSSU would probably have just as much national appeal as NCCU considering the Bighouse Gaines and Stephen A Smith connections.

As much as I don't like the date, it's better against NCCU (BIGGER rivalry) with more potential to draw a bigger crowd.
The 3 entities probably had to figure out a day and time that works for everybody, so the date shouldn't be put solely on our athletic dept.
And I'm glad they figured out a way to get the buzzards on the schedule again...and with a bigger platform!
That said, make sure you have your butts in seats on 12/28 and get your people to be there!
I plan to be there!

Dont we already owe NCCU a home game since they came here last year?

Dont we already owe NCCU a home game since they came here last year? That's if we didn't slide them money for the game.
