Dont we already owe NCCU a home game since they came here last year? Maybe it was the CAA and it's partner (CBS) in the driver's seat in doing this. So the 2 MEAC schools agreed to it. And maybe they're getting paid something from CBS and not us. The big thing is that none of us, on here, know the details of how it happened, what was considered, any payments, etc.

If the Aggies in Greensboro can't pack the gym we have to stop saying NCCU is a rival lol

Yeah I agree. Corbett holds 5k not 50k. If we can't get a good crowd from the Aggies AND Eagles in Greensboro and the surrounding counties, that's an issue.

I think we will need to roll up our sleeves and really promote the hell out of this game in order to ensure a decent turnout. Just putting it on the schedule for Dec. 28 and expecting fans to show up will not be enough.
We need to have a 2 week media blitz and a holiday type of promotion or something.

CIAA teams can still schedule non-conference games in the month of December. Last year WSSU had a break in their schedule from Dec. 16 to Jan. 4. They would have loved to come to Corbett this year on Dec. 28 for a paycheck and national exposure. That's an opinion and not a fact. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for your basketball team to be on campus for 1-2 weeks for 1 game. We ain't paying that much lol. wssurams.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule/2023-24

People cry about everything 😆 I hate to admit it but our athletic department could come out and say we received a $90 million donation soley for athletics and will spread across all our teams for staff, facilities, nutrition, travel, uniforms, etc. And someone, at least one person on this site will complain because the donation wasn't an even $100 million. Or they will complain because we decided to buy Nike instead of Adidas, or use Delta instead of United, or Coke over Pepsi (gatorade or oowerade). I mean it's a classic example of you can't please all the people all the time, but sometimes I thinks it's a little over the top.

To "look good" on TV, we only need to get a decent amount of people in the lower sections.
Stage a bunch of Aggie decorations up top and maybe a few tables with people drinking across from the camera.
I'm more concerned about winning the game. Losing in front of 5k in attendance doesn't help us.

Right now we really only have 3 games during a basketball season that have the potential to be a sell out: UNCG, NCCU and Greek Night. If you schedule any of those games during a time when the students are away and the Dawg Pound sections are half empty, you are not maximizing your potential.

But it's NCCU, and I'm there! It may be Alums, from both sides, in Corbett that Holiday wknd. And if our WNIT vibe shows up, I'll be happy.
