I am with the group that this is a game and not a practice hence the name "Spring Game." I also feel that EMS should be present at all of A&T's football games. Sorry, there are things we can't cut due to cost.

The NFL has their Pro Bowl game. It is flag, but they still call it a game. The NBA has their Allstar Game. No one plays serious defense, yet it is a well attended game. How a college or league choose to modify a normal game rules does not stop it from being defined as a game. How the fans and players perceive the game may be different.

You guys are arguing over semantics.
Whether you consider it a game or a scrimmage, the fact was that this was promoted as a big campus event that was open to the public. That alone should require more planning and resources.
There were probably more fans at Aggie Stadium last Saturday than were at the last WNIT game in Corbett.

Attendance was reported as 3,712 at the last WNIT game at Corbett.. You there were more than that Saturday?

You do not need to have EMS at big campus events. This was an important contact sport "game" not practice which draws a much larger crowd than usual and the game should be much physical than practice.

What do our CAA peers do? If they have an ambulance at their spring games, so should we. If they don’t, I’m not sure we need to either.

I don't think we must have EMT's at our Spring Game, however it does appear that we need build contingencies if we don't. What if the ambulance takes too long again and it's a more serious situation?

Great point. Here's the criteria for EMT... If a player gets seriously injured and the staff can't provide immediate skilled professional care, will the spectators in the stand get upset and question the University's ability to protect our students? If the answer is "yes" then we need to have EMT on site or a well-executed plan to have them there in a few minutes.

I posted the location of the nearest fire station to Truist Stadium. They could have been on campus in 5 minutes if the training staff sent out the call immediately when the player went down.
I think the delay came because the staff on the field deemed the situation to be under control and not life threatening, and they probably just decided to have an ambulance come out of caution in case the player had an unexpected, delayed reaction.
Years ago, they might have even tried to get the player to stand up and walk off the field on his own, but medical procedures have changed over time.
