Just to be clear ,there were two shooting incidents today ,one was at the Cottages near campus this morning ,and the other took place on campus in the rear of the student center this evening .In the shooting on campus one non student was injured and transported to the hospital .

Glad they caught him but not much details. So I assume he wasn't a student or alumni. Did anyone get hurt back in August? Did he shoot up a building, car and fired at someone? |

Hate to try restart the debate but... My point is mostly aimed at those that don't like our "game zone" setup. I know we don't have the metal detectors until you enter the stadium, but I'm guessing instances of MSU and BSU, those individuals probably didn't even attend game, therefore would not have had a game ticket to get into our game zone. I do realize also with those incidents they occurred outside of the game hours, but I do think going forward this homecoming season most if not all HBCUs will be taking extra precautions for all homecoming week events, with the largest on campus event being the game itself. The game zone was to help A&T generate revenue from the more than 21,500 fans tailgating just outside the stadium gates during all home games, that in some cases would never step foot inside the stadium. It also reduces the amount of just walkers by, look I'm not saying the game zone is "top flight security of the world craig" but it at minimum deters a person from just casually walking through the main tailgate area of campus if you have no real interest in enjoying game day activities. Ugh it's so hard to explain this because I know push back will come from those who say, if someone has ill intentions inside the game zone, $50 fee ain't gone stop them, they'll just pay and keep it moving. I know, but that's where the whole "see something, say something" comes in to play. Unfortunately today that's where we are as a whole, safety is everyone's responsibility. Well this post didn't get my message across lol, there's no real way to simply explain this thing, I just wanted to point out that on a minimal level the game zone being would potentially keep events like MSU and BSU outside the main tailgate area. |

I was in Fayetteville Labor Day weekend and I planned to show the family Fayetteville State. That plan failed as the entire campus was surrounded by a locked iron fence. I immediately thought we need to do the same.
