Not a full-fledged, actual wall. However, every driving entrance to campus could and perhaps should be blocked off and security checkpoints put up to check all individuals driving onto campus for weapons. I'm not sure how feasible that is. Some of the street entrances are blocked at 9:00pm which prevents entrance. The presentation by Chief Cherry on campus security is worth watching. You would be surprised at the continuous upgrade to campus security. I wonder how feasible this is for the entire day of GHOE.

Blocking off streets and stopping cars will not change a thing because of the foot traffic. If a problem were to arise it's going to come from with in the foot traffic. You can use all the prevention tools and techniques that you want but at the end of the day . Bad actors with bad intentions are going to and act on those intentions, and the PRAY/ People that they pray on ,can only hope that they don't . Look you can only control what you can Control and you can't hide from what you can't. Enjoy the GHOE God will handle the rest . AGGIE PRIDE MAKE AGGIES DO SMIB RESPECT.

If you have been on campus at night in recent weeks, you'll notice we're beginning to close gates at night that limiting how and who enters and leaves campus after 9 pm now.

I agree with this approach. I know gates on campus streets will not stop someone from coming on campus with a gun but it may impede his or her exit.

Bad actors tend to gravitate toward softer targets.
Just increasing our security presence and making the campus seem less open might deter folks from coming there looking for trouble.

Nothing is 100 percent. The school has made a huge effort to make the campus a safe place for the university family as well as visitors. Google the Town Hall Meeting and listen to the presentation by the campus Chief of Police. It is very informative with a wealth of information. However, some individuals may still gain unauthorize access to campus, but hopefully all of the measures that he and his staff have implemented will foil any crime attempt.
