Hopefully now people can get off suicide watch, smh Indeed…gets on your nerves sometimes, but it’s a blessing to have a fan base so invested in your programs. If we go past announcing on Wednesday some tables and chairs are gonna be turned over by yours truly! |

Mentioned they have already hit the ground recruiting. How do you do that unless a decision has been made to retain the current basketball staff? Current staff members need to be out there looking for a job instead of recruiting if they are not being retained. |

if i heard him correctly, "i believe" coach ross stated that the only players in the portal that he's willing to recruit are players that he already knows or are coached by a coach that he already knows. basically "implying" that you never know what kind of baggage players in the portal bring with them unless you've already done your homework on them relative to their character and academics.
i'm paraphrasing but that's the gist of what i think he said during the podcast. so if my memory of his interview is correct, then that eliminates a lot of guys in the portal for him to recruit unless he already knows the majority of them.
i don't know if i agree with that approach cuz you could easily overlook some good talent, but i understand why he might feel that way...

Yeah, he wants some kind of connection to try to make sure he gets some "legitimate" assessment of kids. I expect he and his staff will know a lot of people so, it might not be much of an issue. I doubt we'll ever find out, but there might be opportunities for "can't pass" guys that they don't know or have some connection, but they take them. We'll see what happens. |
