North Carolina A&T hires former Delaware coach Monte Ross as the new men’s basketball coach, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. He was a part of Temple’s staff as the associate head coach this past season #AggiePride 🏀💙💛

so all it takes not to be a so called "hbcu retread" is to previously coach at a pwc? i'm asking cuz both head coaches (football/basketball) that have been hired by hilton are hbcu alums.
does that mean someone like ken blakeney at howard need not "ever" apply at a&t?

At Saint Joseph's, Ross spent 10 seasons on the sidelines (1996-2006) and was instrumental in the Hawks’ “perfect season” in 2003-04. That Elite Eight team went 27-0 in the regular season and rose to #1 in the nation before ending with a 30-2 record. That was one of seven postseason teams that he was a part of at SJU, including four NCAA appearances. Ross' career also includes a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Drexel (1994-96) where he played a part in the Dragons' first-ever NCAA Tournament win, a 75-63 first-round upset of Memphis in 1996.
