Would not surprise me if he hired Kam as a graduate assistant. Would be good move also could help with recruiting in the triad. We get alot good football players from area schools but I don’t remember the last b-ball player that played significant minutes for T that came from an area school other than Kam Langley imo, kam is the best "true point guard" that i've ever seen at a&t. to properly appreciate his game, you have to really understand the "total" game of basketball, not just "scoring". tell ya what? even with shumpert as the head coach, had kam been on our team last season, you would not have seen as much "one-on-one" play from watson and woods cuz kam would've controlled the tempo and he would've controlled the ball like a "true point guard" should. heck, i expected kam to play pro ball overseas. not sure if he is though... I don't know. From my time (83-88) nobody has been better than Thomas "Ice" Griffis...excellent floor general and could shoot FGs & FTs. Eric Boyd was also very good, but not as good as Ice, as a pure PG, in my opinion. Don't know about anybody before my time.

Does anyone know when the basketball players are reporting back to campus for summer training or workouts? I don't know what the NCAA calls it, if the basketball team can't officially practice as a team right now (unofficial OTAs). These maybe voluntary practices.

I know of college players that have left or will be leaving soon to go back to school. Just curious on what the current players are doing A&T this summer.

I guess we can now conclude that Ross's initial talk with the players either completely failed (none of the players that entered the tranfer portal returned and two players, Duke and Johnson, left after his talk with the players) or was a complete success (he was never interested in any of the players that chose to enter the portal before he arrived and was comfortable with others leaving if they did not want to be apart of a rebuild or fit in his new system). I don't see Duke or Johnson returning at this point.
Coach Ross will officially be coach of the youngest and most inexperienced team in the CAA next season. Not many of the returnees saw significant action last year in an A&T uniform. Will we be able to remain above a 0.400 winning percentage next season (last year's overall winning percentage)? A rebuild typically takes a little time to get on track before showing promising results.

I don't recall if Coach Ross ever informed us of what style of play or system he plans to implement here at A&T. If anyone knows could you post or repost here. Thanks.

I believe Coach Ross said we would play fast during one of the interviews during his introduction week. I'm not sure if that means we would run up and down the court and shoot 3's or the best available shot. Maybe we will have a lot of motion on offense. He did emphasize that defense will be the cornerstone of what we do no matter what.

Then we truly don't know what Coach Ross's system is until he introduces it to us or expands further in an interview. Playing fast or uptempo can mean a lot. My reason for asking this question was that I noticed Coach Ross has never signed a player taller than 6'9". Could this be intentional because taller players may not fit in his uptempo system? This could lead to an understanding of why he has targeted certain players. Otherwise, just wait until the boss decides to let everyone in on his strategy.

Morrice and Johnson style of play "probably" did not fit our new head coach style of play or strategy. The thing is when will we be made privy of additional details to his overall coaching strategy which includes recruiting. This would help reduce the number of questions we have in several current threads.

Coach Monte Ross has added former UConn assistant Ricky Moore to his coaching staff. He was a three-time co-captain for the Huskies, including the school's first national championship team in 1998–99. That year, Moore averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 assists per game. In the 1999 National Championship game, Moore's defense on Duke's William Avery, and his ability to guard Trajan Langdon in the final seconds, was seen as one of the keys to the Huskies defeat of the heavily favored Blue Devils and Moore was named to the All-Final Four team. After graduation, Moore played professionally in five countries --- Austria, Ukraine, Sweden, Turkey, and Germany --- as well as in the Continental Basketball Association and the NBA Developmental League. In 2010, Moore retired as a player and joined the coaching staff at Dartmouth College as an assistant. In 2012, he left for an opening as an administrative assistant at his alma mater, UConn, working for fellow Husky alum Kevin Ollie. In 2013, he was promoted to a full assistant role and helped lead the Huskies to the 2013–14 National Championship.[ Moore stayed at UConn until 2018, when head coach Ollie was dismissed because of an NCAA investigation. He then coached in AAU. In June 2021, Moore was named head boys' basketball coach at Northwest Cabarrus High School in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Originally from Augusta, Ga., Moore was born April 10, 1976. He and wife Heather are the parents of two children, daughter Kendyll and son R.J.

I don't know what the NCAA calls it, if the basketball team can't officially practice as a team right now (unofficial OTAs). These maybe voluntary practices. Last year around this time, we saw tweets from A&T of the MBB team training. Any news or images of this year's team?
