well, i don't remember his name but coach ross stated during his podcast interview that he was bringing along a coach who was a former assistant of his in the past. that's the only reference to his assistants that i've heard...

Is this normal to not start naming or publishing the assistant coaches on your basketball staff by now? I typically don't pay attention to things like this, but with so many potential players we need to replace it is too much pressure to place on Coach Ross and expect him to do a great job in recruiting. One of my requirements early on was that Admin fully support the coach and the basketball program in order for us to build a championship program. I am clueless as to what is happening, but if this is not normal then it causes folks to start looking for reasons.

My expectation is that they have to get through the administrative portion of their hiring process and won't be announced until at least then. That said, I don't really expect they'll be announced based on some/most people's desires on here (including mine) but they'll be working in the background like what coach indicated. #RelaxRelateRelease |

He did bring a young coach with him, and the young coach brought his lovely lady friend. Why don't you guys take a time out. Let the coach run his program. Get his feet wetter. Then come out at him with all of your questions and/or suggestions. He will be wise, if he tunes some of you out.

I just do not want our coach trying to handle the workload of recruiting alone. Recruiting talented players that meet your program goals is a tough job. He deserves a fair shot to succeed, which begins with proper staffing and good recruiting. If his targeted assistants are recruiting for A&T behind the scenes, then it is great that he is getting help. Sorry, I know about us sometimes being slow on hiring a head coach, but never really paid attention to hiring of assistant coaches. |

If your comments are directed at my question about status on hiring of assistant coach, I believe you misinterpreted my intentions because there is no way I was coming after Coach Ross. How is the following statement attacking him? " it is too much pressure to place on Coach Ross and expect him to do a great job in recruiting." If you read my next post after that, you will see that I said it is too much for one person to tackle recruiting alone. Again, how is this coming at Coach Ross? All questions on the hiring process of a new coach do not have to be a negative critique of the coach or the job he is presently doing. It sounds like you want Coach Ross and the basketball program to succeed. Well, if you read my last 2 post in this thread, can you not see that I want the same thing as you and am not criticizing Coach Ross. |
