Ross has and is talking to the guys that went into the portal so we should see if we will add just a couple more players versus half a roster in very short order.

Coach Ross seems to have gotten off to a good start on his first official day by holding on to the early commitment from a really promising 4-star recruit despite the coaching change. Did Brown sign a National Letter of Intent (NLI)? You can't give Coach Ross credit for holding onto an already committed player. Brown had the opportunity to bolt or decommit for many months before Coach Ross entered the picture. The credit should go to the player sticking with A&T throughout the changes and uncertainty in my opinion. Coach Ross should get no credit in recruiting Brown, but credit in closing the deal by getting him to sign the written NLI because only at that point is Brown an official Aggie (of course he has to enroll). Seems you missed A1 saying "by holding on to".

"Holding on" to me means keeping a kid committed throughout the recruiting process that potentially might be flipped by another coach. A signing to me means "closing the deal". Simply an innocent misinterpretation on my part. 🙂

Ross is getting busy! Jason Murphy also had an NSU offer.

I am a little confused why Julius Reese Jr and Jason Murphy are "committed" players and not "signed" players, unless you can't sign players over the weekend. Reese is a HS senior so basketball signing periods are the following: D1 Basketball (early period) November 9 - 16, 2022 and D1 Basketball (regular period) April 12 thru May 17, 2023.
Murphy is a D2 player that placed his name in the transfer portal. He should be able to sign at any time, but did not necessarily need to transfer immediately if I understand the rules correctly.
If signing of players over the weekend is not the reason, then we have a little more work to do to close the deal on these 2 players. Still good news that we have 1 signee and 2 commits after about 2 weeks of recruiting by Coach Ross and staff.

Ross is getting busy! Jason Murphy also had an NSU offer. Sometimes us fanatics” got to sit back and let the pros do their jobs. We have good leadership at the top, plus Ross and his staff ain’t stupid. He asked at the press conference that we be patient and all him to build a winner. I think we got the right man as we continue to make this transition to the CAA. I fully expect that leaders in the program will move in ways that we are not accustomed to…and do things we don’t expect. It’s all a part of change, and that’s a good thing.

He will be a walk on, so I'm a little confused at the timing on his announcement, and to the legitimacy of the post; however, he's a good kid,and will be a good practice player. Coach has not officially met with the players who are still in the program, so, we won't know how many roster spots he will have to fill until he has that meeting.

This kid is from Greensboro Day School and should fit in with our team philosophy.... Liked that he played for an outstanding HS BB coach and with Jaydon Young (my best friend's grandson), a VT signee BTW, Jaydon Young seriously considered A&T before signing with VT.....so we are touching all bases and not afraid to offer the best HS players...

reese was described as a "glue guy", so i take that to mean that he's a "role player" at best. and i'm okay with that cuz we need role players too.
as i previously stated, i needed to see commitments in short order due to the numerous number of holes we need to fill and coach ross has done that. they're not homerun hitters by any stretch, but its a start that i'm satisfied with.
however, we still have a long ways to go and i suspect that it'll take much longer to sign several "studs" that we need...
