Let me say welcome to our new basketball coach Monte Ross. I look forward to meeting and speaking with you at the introductory press conference later this week.

I am happy we got the hiring of a new MBB head coach process over with. I pray that he turns out to be a good coach and take the basketball program to greater heights. The Temple HC was fired on March 13th. I wonder whether he was our 1st choice to compare to all the rumor posting, since his name was never mentioned.

Whatever it's worth Ross turned in his resignation on the same day McKie was let go. The rest of Temple's assistants stayed and are still on board at least until the new guy decides about a staff.

Let's put it this way. It's like shopping for a new car. You hear about this hot new car from friends and strangers, see their most sleekest sexy model in magazines and commercials and rush out to a dealership to check it out certain that's what you want.
Once you get there you see it for the first time and really get to examine it close up and personal. You start eyeballing all the specifics - under the hood, the interior, the fit/finish,the cost of operation, constant maintenance and the practicality of it all against your actual needs, lifestyle, and budget.
In essence you come to the realization that top of line Toyota pretty much does the exact same thing that low end Audi will do you for a lot less money, and you are gonna get you 200k miles out of it to boot. That Audi just won't be around that long.
Hope this analogy kind of satisfies your curiosity just a wee bit.

Most of us have been in this position, and based on your “situation” in life you have to make the right call.

I'm seriously underwhelmed. But I guess we'll see if I get excited next basketball season.

We were never shopping for a new car.....we were shopping for a used car. We got an early 2000s Honda Accord with 195,000 miles on it. We got a coach who was essentially jobless, but because of his CAA experience, he is semi-palatable to some folks. This was a financial hire. I have a strong suspicion the bank WAS NOT BROKEN to hire Ross.
Do I truly believe Ross will make us one of the best programs in the CAA........I do not.

A&T is already one of the best teams in the CAA .Just outside of the top 5 from a team that was projected to finish near the bottom. I'm all for giving Ross the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise.

That makes no sense......because we didn't finish as low as we were projected makes us one of the best teams in the CAA? 8-10 conference record Exit in the 1st round of the tournament
....and we're already one of the best teams in the CAA?
It's one thing to be a loyal Aggie; it's another thing to be an objective Aggie. You're not being objective on this one....

We are not currently one of the best programs in the CAA. But I am not exactly sure how wide the gap is.
