i'm wondering if dad will be permitted to attend his son's home games in corbett? would be a weird scenario with dad sitting in the same stands as the men who fired him... I don’t see any reason why not? He no longer has ties to the university…he is no different than any other parent or fan. my bad, perhaps "be permitted" is too strongly worded. but my point is how weird it might feel if he's sitting in the same stands as the men who fired him and it might even be more "awkward" for him to cheer for another coach who has his former job and for a school who fired him. i mean, i could see a good bit of ambivalence and awkwardness in that regard...

In athletics, especially in coaching, you've got to learn to be able to let that stuff go. I've never been a coach, but having worked in both college athletics and professional sports, I've seen lots of guys involved in situations with former employers and looking back and taking things personally was the last thing that they needed to do. Sometimes things come full circle.

You have to take "your mistakes" out of the equation and look forward to your off spring flourishing at a great University. The current students and MBB staff are two conferences removed from the MEAC and have no association with 2012-2016 during Coach Joyners Era. He's safe lol.

Evan Joyner Earns All-Conference and All-Region HonorsPRESCOTT, Ariz. – Freshman forward Evan Joyner of the Yavapai College men's basketball team is taking home some hardware after the completion of the 2022-23 regular season. The freshman from Greensboro, North Carolina, has earned Third-Team All-Conference and Second-Team All-Region honors the ACCAC announced Thursday morning. In the program's first year back in over a decade, Joyner played in all 30 games, starting 29 of them, and led the Roughriders in scoring with 432 points (a mark that places him 14th in the conference), rebounds with 197 (ninth in the conference) and steals with 36 (26th in the conference). In addition, he also posted 24 blocks (10th in the conference) and 85 assists (16th in the conference). During the season, Joyner also accumulated four double-doubles and tallied a double-digit point total in 26 of his 30 games played. Joyner's game high for points was 26, a feat that he captured on two occasions: January 7 and February 11 with both contests coming against Scottsdale. goroughriders.com/news/2023/3/2/mens-basketball-evan-joyner-earns-all-conference-and-all-region-honors.aspx Nice to have a former D1 guy

No offense to anyone but is he a legit D1 talent? Nothing about his stats jump out at me unless he played in a tough juco league.

you are not gonna be very successful at this level with a team of only "role players". if that was the case, 4star and 5star players wouldn't be in high demand.
every team needs at least 2 or 3 straight up "studs". you're not gonna go very far with a team full of dudes who average 8ppg...

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards I don't know how successful or unsuccessful of a team this new coaching staff will be...I don't know how many "studs" we gonna have...or if we will have a team full of dudes who average 8ppg. I've also learned that the stars associated with a kids name mean nothing until it's proven during play. All I'm saying is this staff looks like it's taking a different approach to players and recruiting...and I welcome the change. I hope the results are better than what we saw the past couple years.

You are 100% correct. Nothing is proven until they hit the floor in competition. I see Ross building a team and program the right way , with the type of players that fit his vision and style of play . I'll take team Cohesiveness over Dysfunction any day. Ross knows what he's doing and what he needs.
