Would those who saw the game and any of the games Shumpert was absent say his presence was a differentiating factor? Unfortunately, I can't say he was any more engaged on the sideline than Coach Rob during the average women's game. However, our guys played with a lot of energy on the defensive end and pressured the ball all game long. We will struggle to score points from the perimeter, but we may be dangerous in transition. It was a good team win last night, but I fear that UNCG is just god awful. They were smaller than we were in the backcourt and their big men were not very athletic. truth teller...

Attendance for tonight's game - 4,704(94%) I find that hard to believe since i was there...none of the 4 sections were completely filled. It was good to see us win, but UNCG shoots as bout as poorly as we do. Only difference was that they do move the ball and get good shots; they just didnt shoot well last night..

Big time win, with an interim coach and missing two big men. Surprised there wasn’t more posts on this thread. There would have been 90+ pages of comments if we had lost! We're better at criticizing than celebrating! Wait, have we become the Republican Party... the grievance HBCU? The Grievance HBCU No matter how well we doing, we mad about our situation or what somebody else doing.

And there goes the kicker that most people have been trying to deny! With a mostly PWI schedule in basketball and football we have full control of our own environment the entire game. The other teams band or pep band aint there, we shouldn't give a damn if their cheerleaders show up, and not even their fans. We need a game coordinator at basketball and football games planning who does what at breaks in the action. 1st timeout I got the Q's stepping with the DJ, 2nd timeout I got the pep band rocking with the Alphas, end of first quarter I got the DJ rocking with crowd participation, halftime, end of 3rd, 1st timeout of 2nd half. etc, etc. We are the culture, the opponent is not! When Corbett was at its peak isn't this how the plan went? Whoever took over after that guy dropped that ball. Greatest thing in Corbett I've ever seen was the Pig mascot when we played Morgan State. Same thing can be done at Truist. this is “comical”! just because we had a nice turnout against uncg who are “cross town rivals”, ya’ll act like uncg is a “typical” pwc from rhode island that no one has ever heard of!! thrilla is 100% correct, uncg “is not” the “typical” pwc from rhode island or pittsburgh that nobody in greensboro has ever heard of. that would be bryant or robert morris or some other pwc. it don’t matter what conference we’re in to darn near sellout a uncg game. plenty of their students/alums were there too! unlike bryant or robert morris or monmouth. many a&t students know students at uncg, there’s an association between the two enrollments whereby aggies often go to their campus and vice versa. i know i did when i was an undergrad. i sometimes ate at uncg's cafeteria and also went to parties at uncg. so there's an association between the two schools. so to act like uncg is just some unheard of pwc like monmouth or bryant or robert morris is just downright “comical”… Can we just dream or make suggestions without all the debbie downers sometimes? I get it, you don't like the move. Corbett was packed to the brim at every game when you were at A&T. Well, it wasn't when I was there. It was the usual suspects that brought out a packed house. So any way to liven up the atmosphere is a good thing. Hopefully they can keep up with the promotions and keep the place at least 2/3 of what it was last night. Jan 7th will be a real test because that's at 2pm on Saturday, but at least the opponent has UNC in front of the name. I feel like it's way more pleasing to whip UNCG, UNCW, and Elon in basketball more than whipping Del, Coppin or Maryland Easter Shore. I feel those 3 are upgrades as opponents and not just from a basketball skillset, but attendance as well.

Just for the record, UNCG has beaten Montana State (77-66), UMBC (76-72), and Johnson and Wales (93-60). In the loss column they have dropped games to three CAA teams in N.C. A&T (73-56), Hofstra (65-53), and Towson (56-53). Their other losses were to Miami (79-65) of the ACC and to WAC opponent Stephen F. Austin 75-58 in a Canadian Tournament.
They did lose Miles Jones to a preseason ending injury, a really nice 6-6 inside scoring forward much like we did when Will Felton went down. They were also missing their top player in 6-6 Keondre Kennedy (15 ppg) for reasons unknown. But as Oleschool stated earlier it was no worse than us having Harry and Will missing so it evened out. We just had more offensive options, were stronger off the boards, and had far better backcourt depth available to us coming off the bench.

All complaints, no solutions It's great to have debates, but those in the "Aggie GOP"...much like there political sidekicks only seem concerned with tearing down instead of building up. They can't seem to find anything right with what we are doing or the direction we are taking.

I'm not as concerned as I was before the game.
That said, UNCG didn't have their top scorer (6'6, 15+ pts/gm). But no worries, we still got the win.
