12 turnovers, poor shooting, and few assists. Not a winning combination.

Can't see the game but based on the score and your comments, I'm not making plans to attend the NCAA Tournament this season. Hey, let's be realistic, we've operated with sub-par and interim coaches for almost a decade so why are we surprised? 🤨 We'll get better but we probably won't get great until we get our coaching situation settled. It’s on ESPN+

Hopefully they will address the coaching situation, since they don't plan to hire a head coach until after the end of the bball season. This gives the AD plenty of time to get it right this time. In the meantime we have to watch these early games to see if the coaching strategy has changed this season and what to expect from the coach and players in conference play. Not looking so good thus far, but remember how the football team did in non-conference play and then took care of business in conference. I hope everyone is learning from these games.

In my opinion you can't judge this team from the last three games. Next week will be a good indicator of how this years team will advance. We have a lot of individual talent let's see if they can jell into a team. And don't forget that we have two key big men missing that the coaches were counting on. Let be patient and give this team time to grow. On a side note that this Clown say Alabama A T &T. That a first lol.

Observations: 1. Woods thinks he’s on the court alone 2. Watson is only 6’4 3. Johnson is only 6’7 4. Powell is only 6’6 5. Powell’s defense and rebounding is good but his offense needs work 6 We need to stick with the zone longer 7. No movement on offense too much dribbling

Same player is about the same height as Powell. Powell is guarding a different player listed at 6’9 that is towering over him. That same player stands beside Johnson and Johnson is at least 2 inches shorter. Just confirms what pommie said last week.

However Iowa State played great D and we had no idea how to combat it. Quick ball movement without dribble is the key, but that has been said for sometime. Guard heavy teams just feel the need to dribble .

If the team is small it is going to have to adapt. Next few weeks will tell us where we are.

Same problem as last year no real plan on offense. Iowa St in a man to man and we running a 5 out……When they just as quick as we are with more length . On a aggressive man you got run something with screens and cuts to the basket totally agree. i challenge every aggie on this message board to watch how we "so called" execute our half court offense against man-to-man defense. DON'T LOOK AT THE BALL, ONLY LOOK AT THE OTHER FOUR PLAYERS. and what you'll see is four dudes just "standing around" and in some cases, didn't even keep the floor balanced. i mean, there was no movement, no screens being set, no nothing. folks, that's the true definition of "street ball" and that's what i saw against iowa state (i watched the replay). i couldn't help but "cringe" when i saw that. i've never seen a man-to-man offense that didn't call for "movement" from all 5 players and "screens being set". yet, on the other hand, look at how iowa state executed their "half court offense" against our man-to-man defense? just the opposite of us, i saw "movement" from all 5 players and "screens being set" like a normal offense should. we're not talkin' set plays here, instead we're talkin' bout an "offense" that should be "continuous" (it resets itself) until a good shot is found. yet for us, rarely did i see more than 2 passes made before somebody "jacked up" an ill-advised shot. and sometimes, i saw dudes come down the court and "jack up" an outside shot without making not even "1" single pass! look, i didn't expect us to win this game but i did expect us to look like a "legitimate" d1 team as far as "discipline and execution" goes but i didn't see that. what's the purpose of an "offense"? the purpose is to create a "high percentage shot" by making quick passes and setting sound screens against the defense, "particularly" if your opponent is more talented than you are. in games like this, offensive execution (quick passes and setting sound screens) are very important. in the first half when iowa state had their starters in the game, we shot 37% from the floor and that's because of poor (or perhaps zero) half court offensive execution. this has to be fixed...

I think that was a very fair review. 4 statues and a ball handler is exactly what we have seen over the past 2 seasons. Steph is Steph and our guys are not Steph.

Harry does not look 5" taller than him if is 6'11". Remember a player's normal posture plays a role on how you perceive their height. When measuring a player a physician asks him to straighten his back, raise his head, etc. I have seen Duncan many times and he is definitely taller than 6'6".

You can make a decent judgment of this team (players and coaches) based on the last 3 games. Yes, a team can get better throughout the season, but there has to be a commitment to improving mentally and physically. Yes, their record may get better playing teams closer to their talent but that does not mean the team play and chemistry got better. You can win games playing a street ball style but probably not a conference championship at D1 level.

Outside of a rec league 😆

The team committed less fouls than their opponent this game and had a high number of steals. Their assist and turnovers are hurting them. 6 assist and 19 TO. They may have had only 2 assist in the second half.
