The team committed less fouls than their opponent this game and had a high number of steals. Their assist and turnovers are hurting them. 6 assist and 19 TO. They may have had only 2 assist in the second half. You don't get many assist playing selfish rec ball with no movement or ball rotation 😂

Totally agree with the height estimations. Also Marcus Watson is a great offensive player, but defensively he switches off. If the team is small it is going to have to adapt. Next few weeks will tell us where we are. Duncan is ~6'8" with shoes. Look at team photos with Harry. Harry does not look 5" taller than him if is 6'11". Remember a player's normal posture plays a role on how you perceive their height. When measuring a player a physician asks him to straighten his back, raise his head, etc. I have seen Duncan many times and he is definitely taller than 6'6". I know we can't see feet on this shot, but based on your general knowledge of basketball it looks like Watson is taking a charge and Johnson is trailing the play. How tall do you think the Iowa State player is?

How tall do you think the Iowa State player is? You can't make an accurate guess on any player's height in that picture. It does not capture the full body of any player. There is no known reference point you can use in this picture as a vertcal measurement scale, for instance the known rim height from the floor of 10ft. Also, the camera angle skews measurements. Is the camera person sitting on the floor angling the camera up? To prove my point, how tall do you think the player to Johnson's right is (you can barely see him coming into the picture)? He looks to come to Johnson's waist and we know that is not true. I don't know about the other players, but Duncan is no shorter than 6'7" and this is from me meeting him several times. I won't debate you over whether he is 6'8" vs 6'7", but no way is he 6'6". My son is 6'3" and when he was around my son he looked more than 3" taller.

Gentlemen,
We were picked next to last in the CAA for a reason. It’s part of the reason why we as fans need to really temper our expectations for this season.
Just remember that we have an interim coach with multiple bigs missing in action for extended periods of time.
While I am always hopeful of a magical season, I fully expect us not to make it far in the CAA this first go-round. I hope you all make the same realizations also.
A&T Basketball will have to build up multiple items to become a CAA contender and that will have to take a few seasons, at least, to do so.

A&T Basketball will have to build up multiple items to become a CAA contender and that will have to take a few seasons, at least, to do so. I had no knowledge of any preseason predictions of the team's finish in the CAA. I just wanted to form my own opinion using these early games before conference play about this year's team and coaching. Using this information I too can speculate on where I think they will finish in conference play. Again, there is still quite a few more games to play which the team can greatly improve and get healthy, but as I mentioned in an earlier post the commitment to improvement needs to be there for both the players and coaches. I am a wait and see guy, but in the meantime you can still constructively critique each game to see if they are achieving their goals. I heard from members of this forum that this coach's goal was to implement more inside-out team play compared to the previous coach. This has not happened thus far but he may have a legitimate excuse due to the injuries to our big men. The team has not shot well from the 3pt line the last two games. Some have said that this is a better shooting team than last year's team based on the 1st game. I think the court is still out on this. If the CAA conference is better or tougher than the Big South (I don't know if this is true but what I heard), than the opponent's defense should be better creating more contested shot attempts, especially if you are not running smart plays to get players open or the players are stagnant. You may ber correct in how far the team will go in the CAA tournament, but I don't have enough information yet to agree or disagree with your expectation which I respect.

Because your picked next to last, that doesn't mean that you have to play that way . Yes we are missing our two tallest players but that is nothing but a excuse . The team is playing almost exactly like they played last year with no ball rotation are player movement, to much dribbling by the guards, guards not wanting to feed the post ,isolation play and the list goes on. There is no excuse to why this team is not playing better .

You have to give credit to Iowa St. defense, they totally took us out of our offense and we reverted back to the way we been playing the past few years with no flow. Idk what happened that we just had to abandon the offense from the EWC game, but the team just said "F" it let's just play pick up basketball.
Also, being undersized may have gotten us by in the past but uhhh from what I've seen on so far in our conference from UNCW and College of Charleston we will continue to get punished in the paint. Both of those teams took to to Carolina with ease, and they are very physical. If we don't toughen up it will be a very long season.

We’ve played “and 1” basketball through 3 games regardless of opponent. The guards are playing a game of 21 while being on a team 😂

So what is the message to our fanbase? Don’t expect to win much this season. That's it? No "better days are right around the corner" or "help is on the way" or anything?

Ball rotation , player movement and shot selection on offense offset a lot of the disparities in size in the paint . But if you have no movement or screening of by your post players in the paint yes the smaller team will get overpowered if they are just standing around. Filmore and Powell are physical activity players when on the floor together. We have the physical players what we don't have is proper system execution on either end of the floor .
