Will Sod the game and practice field in late May or Early June Hopefully we will thoughtfully get the best grade of grass turf for athletic fields installed and not just send a truck over to Lowe's. Unfortunately, I'm still not convinced we know how to take care of it properly. man, u are some negative stuff lately ....I just don't get it sometimes from y'all

This is probably why he's negative: So? We're resodding it all. Also, we've been on a very negative kick here lately. Who knew one 5-6 season could do that.

Give me a reason to be optimistic about field maintenance. I am truly honestly open to hearing it.

We re-sod the field every year. That is nothing special.
The fact that the field was in the condition is was for two high profile events (Pro Day and the Spring Game) should be a cause for concern.
The field is only visible to the general public about 8-10 times a year.

So? We're resodding it all. Also, we've been on a very negative kick here lately. Who knew one 5-6 season could do that. Imagine if we have another one, or worse. In the picture I see the following: Dead grass on which we had professional football scouts watching our players (like we're Grambling 1955 or some sheeet). A stadium with levels and paint that do not match. Nicely spaced trees behind the stadium. A press box that's too tall for the stadium, too narrow for the stadium, too far back from the field, and too nice for the stadium. Honestly even if we'd gone undefeated the picture wouldn't look any better. Our facilities are terrible and we're moving to conferences where that really matters. I don't see it as negativity as much as reality. I have no interested in having the worst facilities across the board in the conference but that's where we pretty much stand in the BS and in the CAA. Do we really want to have folks from a high-profile conference come and see that this is how we're living?

Even with all you said, the CAA invited us and reached out, not the other way around.

And that makes having the worst facilities in the conference ok because?

Once we declared we wanted move into "high cotton", the definition of what's acceptable has to change. The definition of excellence has to change also. I didn't decide to make the move, but I'm not going accept being embarrassed as a school because of decisions that have nothing to do with money. Those that accept it, just don't understand. If there are obstacles to overcome, then overcome them. Magic Johnson said in his Chancellor Series talk last week in Harrison Auditorium that as Black folk in business we have to OVER DELIVER ALWAYS because we have no room for error. What I'm doing is challenging the way we think about the work we do in athletics. If that's negative, A&T taught me that in Graham Hall. NEVER BUILD or ACCEPT A CRAPPY PRODUCT.

glad some of our folks are finally getting out to see facilities at some pwc's, though its the "tip of the iceberg". i've been "begging" folk to do that. been tellin' folk for years (if not decades) how far behind our facilities are compared to most pwc's. this is why going "fbs" is so "INSANE"!.
if you're gonna be successful at the fbs level or even the caa or any pwc conference for that matter, you've got to be able to "RECRUIT" as good or better athletes than your competition. and i promise you, "facilities" are a major reason (not the only reason) why a lot of pwc schools are more successful recruiting than we are. not to mention that hbcu's have a "smaller pool" of prospects to recruit from than pwc's.
so a&t must overcome the "disadvantages" of inferior facilities and a "smaller pool" of prospects to recruit from in order to be successful in the caa or "nationally" at the fcs level. status quo won't cut it and there's not a whole lot that can be done about the "smaller pool" of prospects. these are the "challenges" that lie ahead for a&t athletics.
this is nothing new, been sayin' it for many years if not decades...

I'll just be glad when we get turf so the conversation can start being about how many years do we go before we replace the faded stuff.
