This is a moot point. I dont get the sense that Earl is currently on CareerBuilder, trying to find Washington a new D-line coach. If Hilton and Washington are not beating the brushes or Coaching Portal for competent applicants to fill the positions as of yesterday, we are in definitely in trouble going into the Fall .

Coaches are leaving because of lack of leadership at the top, they know just like we do Washington isn’t right for the job. They will be unemployed after next season as a member of Washington’s staff. Walking out the door is their vote of no confidence in him, really simple. It’s not Hilton’s job to hire assistant coaches or get them to stay, Hilton’s job is resources and hiring and firing head coaches. The school is not going to fire Washington for one bad season, his fans …many on this board would be up in arms. Furthermore, they aren’t going to pay him $300k then bring in another coach and pay $350-$400k simultaneously. Gentlemen please stop the B****S please. Coaches leave because that's how the coaching field works . They come and go period . No competent assistant coach worth having wants to stay and assistant . The question I would have is why would a competent coach that is worth his or her salt 🧂 would just hang around and remain a assistant, position coach for less pay and not try to move up , lateral or down for a Head Coaching , Coordinator Position and more pay . A lot on here are making a Dust up out of nothing because of the timing but the facts are coaches come and go , unless they have nowhere to go so they just hangout where they are 😆 Just amazing to watch. It's as if we have been dysfunctional forever.

Idk who we will have. Whoever it is, they must have the players ready to stay on the field on Fourth down, if the remaining BS Teams decide to go for it, and of course N Dakota St.

Not sure, but I would assume Lantz would probably handle most of the linebacking coaching duties in the interim.

Coaches leave all the time. Its just hilarious to me how some were saying how underqualified our staff was and now mad or confused as to why a couple of them left. You cant make this up.

Coaches don't leave all the time. Especially 3 top coaches in the span of 2 months with no replacements in sight.
The people inside the program I spoke to don't think this is just business as usual. They are panicking more than fans on this site are.

Okay, all jokes aside...WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE LEAVING? Players, coaches, staff...I'm concerned this is not the end. Are opportunities REALLY that great beyond North Carolina A&T? Is it facilities? Is it culture? Is it by-in? Are folks afraid of presumingly "better, higher quality" competition on the field and sidelines in the CAA conference? Do our current players and staff lack that much confidence in their abilities or inability to rise to the new level and challenge of competition? Is there a real dysfunction going on in the locker room? Personally, as an NC A&T alum like most on these boards (though presumingly younger than most)...I DO NOT WANT ANYONE AT NC A&T THAT DOES NOT WANT TO WIN AND GRADUATE AS AN AGGIE. I want people to be around who really WANT to be at A&T through transition, winning, losing, good times, and bad times. An Aggie at heart through and through. People seem so easy to jump ship. Hopefully, I am wrong and am missing something. To the coach leaving to coach at HIS alma mater - more power to him. But, for student-athletes leaving as posted in the other thread in addition to all of these coaches - WHY??? And why NOW? One minute you're in the transfer portal...the next minute you're out the portal...now you're in the portal again...so wishy-washy... Hopefully, Aggie Alum Connell Manor has a great season in the SWAC 2022... Well, that's a one-sided perspective on things...people want an opportunity to progress in their careers. And sometimes you don't always ascend upwards in one location; you may have to take a lateral position first in order to continue ascending. If I know Coard and Gibbs the way I think I do, the desire to coach and be successful at it has always been there. With that desire, they will continue to ascend wherever they wound up...in my humble opinion. The same thing can be said for Trei Oliver, who left back in 2016 and is currently the head coach for NCCU. So, I wouldn't sleep on NCCU any longer. But, the point is, you cannot take business decisions personal. These guys are doing what's best for them and their families in the long run. I definitely hate to see them leave us because, they've served us well but, you have to happy for their increases in their careers. However, I will agree that it's a bitter/sweet situation.

This has zero to do with Coard, Gibbs and Jones leaving for better career opportunities.
This is about Coach Washington and the challenges he now faces with assembling a new staff during the final year of his contract. We also have earmarked scholarship dollars for hopefully some bigtime transfers and right now we are missing 3 of our top recruiters.
The timing for all this couldn't be worse.

That's the only reason there would be soo much internal "panic".

He's now looking for opportunities in an intentional way also? This is not business as usual.

They are panicking more than fans on this site are. So what you are saying is the writing is on the wall for this being Washington's last year? That's the only reason there would be soo much internal "panic". This is my belief...the assistant coaches that left see what Washington doesn't see. He has been set up to fail but, he will not be a squeaky wheel so he could potentially get some oil, he will quietly accept his fate. His comrades are not willing to face a similar fate...and ask yourself, would you? They know the cannot ascend or grow here without pulling a rabbit out of the hat for the next 3-5 years. Now, you tell me, what sensible person would resign themselves to that environment?? Thus, my expectation is Washington will get some old recycled coaches that don't have much tread left and try to be respectable the next few seasons. And to be honest...the whole thing stinks. We can give our leadership and administration credit for growing the university to where it is, on the flip side we have be just as honest when they screw up. Well, our leadership blew this one...HUGE! I mean, who stands next to a falling tree...
