Best to get out when you still have some credibility left. Stay at A&T and we start getting our brains beat in by William & Mary, Richmond, Rhode Island, Monmouth and thank God James Madison left the conference...it wouldn't be a good look at all. exactly!! only a fool would think that the nccu alums who were on our coaching staff never had an opportunity to join the staff at nccu until "now". as long as we were "winning championships" and gaining national attention by beating a few fbs teams, they were better off (career wise) by staying at a&t which was making their resume' look good. but when you see the road ahead and the "lumps" you're about to take in the caa, they're better off "jumping ship" now than when it is sinking. its just like you said, in so many words, those guys can see the writing on the wall...

I also know of a couple of occasions where the new HC was forced to keep an assistant from a previous regime. like ragsdale for coach lee and boy, did that turnout to be a disaster...

We can give our leadership and administration credit for growing the university to where it is, on the flip side we have be just as honest when they screw up. Well, our leadership blew this one...HUGE! I mean, who stands next to a falling tree... its the "jerry jones" mentality, too much "hands on" from leadership instead of letting "knowledgeable" folk do their jobs...

I would argue it's the opposite. Too little support from the leadership.

"hands on" deals more with "decision making" rather than support. i happen to believe that leadership does provide support to our football program (except our grass), maybe not enuf to be successful in the caa. but definitely enuf to win championships in the meac and bsc...

the signing of a “devante kincade” or “malcolm bell” type qb would change the complexion of our entire 2022 season in a “positive” way, with or without the departing assistant coaches. but yeah, i know, that’s only “wishful” thinking...

That's what I'm looking for...FBS transfer 3-star or above dual threat with preferably 2 yrs in the program (RSo or above).

Yall do realize that hasn't been the M.O. of this program since 2008-09, Carlton Fears. Every QB since to take meaningful snaps ha e been talent that we've developed. Don't expect Michael Vick or even Allen Suber to walk through that door anytime. I think we're going to dance with the girl we brought to the dance.

Without good competent coaching , a strong OL and constant receivers FBS transfer like Kincade or Bell will not be that much of a difference maker . A&T will not be able to attract the attention of any above average FBS QB talent until A&T's Coaching Staff can show that they can develop QB talent . Hell they can't even develop the 3 🌟 talent that they have . No decent QB wants to transfer in to a system where they can not be pushed past the level they are already at . The good ones look for programs that have talent in front or coming from behind that challenges them to preform at an higher level along with the Coaching . I think a lot on here like TV Dinners when it comes to this FBS QB talk , it looks good on the box but you don't know what your going to get you remove it from the oven or microwave..i.e the kid from ECU . Washington and his staff had no idea how to use his talents and just wasted it football wise . Now as far a Coard goes as a position coach Outstanding but as a DC I'm glad he left for NCCU. Truthfully A&T's defense has not been great for some-time , so I don't see him leaving as that much of a problem . This coaching staff needs a boost or a total makeover period . Like it or not it's time for the changing of the guard .
