I am not concerned about JSU and GSU recruiting class, kids are signing because of the coaches name not institution. A&M signed a bunch of transfers are they are still going to lose…. Programs with a lot of transfers don’t perform well against quality competition. Heck, look at our basketball team…a lot of good transfers and we are losing🤷🏾♂️ Campbell recruiting is what concerns me, we had a better record and it’s a school without a lot of publicity. And we have a better football name than everyone in hbcus with the exception of Sanders.. 7th in recruiting for the largest and hbcu program standard bearer. We have to do something different - that is unacceptable.. 7th is last far as I am concerned.. If you look at both conference and hbcus it speaks to a bigger problem .. the ones that we are looking for are choosing SWAC schools because they are the ones that have the hbcu culture and they are the ones competing w Sanders. If he’s making noise they can make noise beating him. Idc what anyone says that has to play a factor and their incredible class. They own the top 6 .. in all my life that has not happened .. we can’t discount that .. And campbells class was right beside JSU .. I know everyone is happy with fixing the defense but I just see a bigger problem going on .We have to be extremely careful not to become the blah school. Just because the SWAC has traditionally not done well does not mean it will stay that way. I see a trend not in our favor. The population size of a institution has nothing to do with or has any bearings on the athletic quality of recruits . Look it is really easy to flip a recruiting class from last place to first place at the FCS level because the majority of FCS recruits are 1-2-3 or none . Now if a program can flip a 4 or a 5 to add to that , that moves them up into the top 5 and possibly # 1 . Your talking about 1-2 or 3 athletes 😆 . Now for me any team that is ranked in the top 5 that is portal heavy does not count , that's like eating someone's else's Leftovers 😆 The rankings should be based solely in my opinion on your HS and possibly JC recruits, not portal transfers. All rankings are subjective ( just some so called experts opinion). Valley has been a transfer heavy program for years almost to the point that they have alienated the feeder base Junior College/ High School coaches are sending there talent else's where if possible. A&T's 2022 class is on par with other FCS and HBCU'S programs talent wise. The only problem that I see is dose A&T have the Coaching Staff to develop this in coming Talent 🤔

That has to account for something. They didn't just wake up one day and forget how to coach. 🤷🏿♂️

We have success stories in Tarik & Darryl, but we also have some embarrassing NFL blunders in there too. As well as so many guys in recent years that dominated the MEAC and didn’t even get an opportunity at the next level, because they weren’t NFL ready.

I am not worried about coaching I believe ours are as good as any. I’m just concerned like I always am - on optics and perception.. I am worried after ten years of HBCU dominance, consistent fcs top 25 team and in the media we are not pulling in more higher level recruits. I understand development but what’s wrong with developing 3-4 star recruits vs 1-2 star recruits 💁🏿. We have an incredible story - the schools that are beating us don’t have half what we have. It just frustrates the hell out of me. I’m going to apply to be a recruiter.. ain’t no way.. lol

It's hard to tell a great story of going from 0 losses, to 2 losses, to 3 losses, to 6 losses.

the 6 losses will only hurt if its followed by another 6 or more losses...

I'm not talking about whether it hurts the program overall for future seasons, I'm referring to it being a part of this year's recruiting elevator speech.
