Chambers (48.2) Hayles (46.97) Lindo 47.63) Jackson (47.21) A ways to go…we are early in the season Chambers is a bit disappointing so far though Our top two guys didn't run. Ross and Stokes would have gotten us 4-5 more seconds and the winning time was a 3:05. The 3:10 was a good outing with 3 of 4 guys under 48 seconds. We ran an A and a B team. So all of those guys are competing for two slots. We'll be fine.

It’s the first meet of the season for a lot of the team they did pretty good for the most part track is a sport that’s about progression I would rather them run these times now then run them at conference or even NCAA

Track and Field Sophomores Showcase Their Talents at ClemsonJavonte Harding and Jonah Ross have good showings in 200 meters. Javonte Harding (left) ran the second-fastest 200-meter time in the nation this year with a 20.71. CLEMSON, S.C. – The North Carolina A&T men's and women's indoor track and field teams showcased the future of the programs on Saturday during the second day of the Clemson Invite at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Facility.
Sophomore sprinters Javonte Harding and Jonah Ross had good showings in their 200-meter races. Harding finished second in the men's 200m in 20.71. Despite winning her heat, Ross finished the women's 200 in 23.55 for a second-place finish.
For Harding, it was already his ninth top-5 finish of his young career. His time stands as the second-best in the nation. Harding has finished top-2 in the indoor 200m five times in his career. Five Aggies competed in the 200m, with three of them finishing in the top-10 in freshman Markevus Jackson (7th,
21.33) and Graduate Tavarius Wright (8th, 21.57).

It's probably a little petty, but I always like to see a picture of us beating a Power 5 school. In this case, Florida State. Show this picture to the recruit we lost last month that just committed to FSU instead of us. If I was a Twitter person, I'd tweet this at her.

It’s the first meet of the season for a lot of the team they did pretty good for the most part track is a sport that’s about progression I would rather them run these times now then run them at conference or even NCAA that may be true, but a 49 second 400m is a "long ways" away from a national championship 4x400 relay team. hey, the bar has been set "very high" because of recent success. i don't think i've ever recalled someone chopping off a full 3 or 4 "seconds" (not "tenth" of seconds) from their 400m time unless they were injured or completely outta shape. but thats what it'll take to repeat as 4x400 relay national champions. wow, folk will really come for you if you ever say anything they don't like about aggie athletics, no matter how "TRUE" it is...

i don't think i've ever recalled someone chopping off a full 3 or 4 "seconds" (not "tenth" of seconds) from their 400m time They don't need to. No one ran a 49, the slowest split was 48.2. Last year's championship time was 3:03.16, so technically they need to take off seven seconds. -If Ross runs a 45, and he replaces the slowest time, that's three(3) seconds. -If Stokes runs a 46, and he replaces the next slowest time, that's two(2) more seconds. OSA, so the question is it plausible for them to chop off a combined two seconds in the next 60 days?

My question still stands to you, do you think it is plausible for a four of our 400 meter guys to shave off 5-7 tenths each in the next 60 days? I don't have a good sense of what's possible.

I don't have a good sense of what's possible. absolutely that's very plausible! but again, my comment was made after the "400m race" and after i read who our 2 "newcomers" to our 4x400m national championship relay team would be. that's why i stated that 49's won't cut it cuz they both ran 49's in the "400m race" which is a better measurement than their actual split during the relay because that is a "give or take" measurement due to the baton "hand off zone"...

In a meet Jan 23, 2021 Stokes and Young who were on the team with Stewart and Ross ran 47.4 and 48.7 in their season opener .. Not sure what their splits were on the 4x4 but they did improve.. Young did not run Saturday but he is on the team .. So I will wait a little longer to worry. . Of course , I thought/ hoped the new guys would be in the 47s in their openings meet.
