My predictions (FB only): BSC - A&T & Hampton remain, Monmonth exits to the CAA, Central is extended an invitation CAA - JMU leaves (announced), Elon & COC leaves for BS, Norfolk to the CAA MAAC/NEC - Howard leaves, all other remain but Monmonth may join also, Morgan is a possibility MEAC - Folds as a conference, Steat to SWAC or D2 OVC - Tennesse State is in a world of hurt with not many options......sad situation I think Elon and College of Charleston would head to the Southern Conference before coming to the Big South. Just my opinion. Monmouth jumps at the opportunity to go to the CAA. Howard and Hampton would want to make that jump as well. Central and Norfolk State I believe would be extended invitations to join the Big South as full members. I don't see the MEAC surviving this.

Anyone know the process or requirements to create a new Conference? If these rumors hold true, you have 5 schools that would have left the MEAC. What was stopping them from coming together to create a new conference? Howard, Hampton, Norfolk, A&T,NCCU, throw in SCSU, and maybe I'm being naive, but is there not 4 PWIs they could have convinced to join? That would give you 10. NO there are not any FCS PWI that are willing to join a HBCU conference. The PWI FCS programs are not there yet . Only the MEAC HBCU conference leadership are GULLIBLE enough to think that the PWI cool-Aid tastes better, with out realizing the position of power that they have with the ongoing state of change and movement with in the BS ,CAA , SC. The MEAC is Prime real estate located right in the middle of those three conferences . There will be no major travel concerns for anyone. The MEAC needs to consolidate the remaining football-playing schools and have a more take all or none attitude , and show that a merger would benefit both conferences . But until then the institutional leaders will continue to let them pick us off one by one and the MEAC and former MEAC HBCU's will continue to be the Bridesmaids at the wedding and not the bride . And don't give me that BS about the FCS playoffs or the Celebration Bowl because everybody is trying to cut costs for their institutions to save and produce Revenue . The HBCU fanbase has only benefited the numbers in the Big S***it at our opponents home games but has the favor been returned on our end ? The MEAC is in a unique position if they can only capitalize on it and stay together or the conference will continue to be picked apart by conference that only needed there teams so that there conference would not go under. The question is we already lost two Hampton & A&T that fell for the OKIE-DOKE by there leadership will the MEAC lose anymore the same way .

How would you all feel if we ended up in the same conference division as Elon and UNCG? 🤔
