Probably that our games are kinda boring...Yes we win, but alot of students that attend don't watch football. They want the experience (Band/crowd participation/music) You hit the nail on the head . It's all about Game day Experience "They want the experience (Band/crowd participation/music)" which has always been the Staples brand for HBCU football games . Have we begun to forget that by moving to the Big****it . This wine and cheese mentality needs to end and get back to the Mad Dog and crackers to get things Poppin again 🤪

Sounds like they are not aware of Laurel St. That conversation is about Mississippi Valley in one case and Prairie View in the other. SWACers are not aware of anything outside of the SWAC.

youtu.be/6T6sXw2QW1w youtu.be/yvGWyFzUtU4Culture- you can find those videos of this today and from 15 years ago as generation after generation get hype in the same way. That’s just one part and I picked small schools for a reason… but it’s an example. We show glimpses of this but the problem is our generational thing is “Aggie Pride” and “old Aggie spirit” which has been reduced to a victory song but I like it that way. But we don’t have anything outside of that and certainly not as hype as the videos I referenced.

Probably that our games are kinda boring...Yes we win, but alot of students that attend don't watch football. They want the experience (Band/crowd participation/music) The football games are extremely boring. People keep talking about Monmouth coming to GHOE as a big deal. It won’t be because of the crowd. There will be 21,500 non verbal fans in the game. If it’s not an amazing 90 yard run or amazing catch most of the fans don’t even get our their seats for a touchdown. Our game day experience is one of the worst in hbcus Come to any game and you will see that the team literally has to beg us to yell for them. It’s so sad! I agree aggieswag. It's not our culture to be continuously cheering, standing up, etc. We, typically, don't cheer until something big happens. As a result, we need to do things to drive enthusiasm - more than on field announcements during commercials/timeouts/etc. (dance contests, races, etc.). DJ with popular old and new songs played. Otherwise we just sit and wait during those times. I've spoken to someone that's involved before but no changes. Hate to say it but our announcer didn't seem to know ,cheering etiquette...make noise when the other team has the ball and be quiet between plays when our team has the ball. We should NEVER cheer when we have the ball on 3rd down and are trying to make a 1st down. Seem our players don't know this either. I've also asked about getting the words to Lift Every Voice and Sing shown on the big board since it seems most don't know them. That way we could sing along with the band and how good it would be for us to sing it. I believe it would be great to get sponsorships for 1st downs, sacks, interceptions, touchdowns and any other things we can identify. "Another Joe's Auto Shop 1st Doowwnnnnn!" "An Autozone sack by Jermaine McDaniel!" "A Bessemer Avenue Laundry interception by Jacob Roberts!" Etc.

But I'm not blaming the students because a lot of them just don't know or understand football outside of a touchdown.

Put their tails in their favorite pro team stadium and they will be cheering at every play. Its the black culture. We cant overcome that. Our games will forever be what they are. Those same schools people keep referencing that are "better" have boring games as well. They just post their most hype moments on Twitter. You cant recondition every freshman class that comes in before another freshman class is rolling in. They call the reserves boring but reserves cheer more for first downs and situational plays than the student section does. Go to any high school game in the country and what are the white kids doing? Standing in the student sections(never sit the entire game) acting a damn fool with their chants. Where are the black students. Chilling at the concession stand area. Posted up and trying to holla. We cant reprogram ourselves, so therefor we get what we get.

I've come to the conclusion that no one cares because they will still get those student fees rather 2 students or 1,000 show up. Although no one mentioned it, the track is also a problem. Imagine if the stands were right on top of the field (like Centrals).

Imagine if the stands were right on top of the field (like Centrals). Mentioned this several times actually. We mention it every year. NCCU stadium is right on top of the game. Makes for a much better football atmosphere when its packed.

The only HBCU experience that I've ever been to where the students are truly into the game is Tuskegee. Those kids are chanting and cheering from before the game starts until after the game ends. If you've never been to The Shed, I suggest you go at least once.

We cheer for the actual game more when we pack the visitor side of someone elses stadium. The visitor side down at UNCC was electric. Visitor side at NCCU be loud and into the game. The Classic crowds be way louder than home games.

We are in a new conference that has a TV package. The conference and ESPN determine the kickoff , not A&T This needs to be investigated. We do not have a tv package. We are playing our games online it’s not on broadcast tv. Three of our games have been or will be on broadcast TV. The Furman game was on TV and the North Alabama game and Kennesaw State game are both being broadcasted on TV. link
