Keep your eye on this young man. Coach Ross & the Olympians had a front-row seat this weekend.

TJ has a lot of energy . The Head coach is Earl Barnes ex A&T punter who was track HC at HP Andrews. He replaced former NCAT 400 meter runner Smothers . Monroe has got to be the best runner they have had in awhile.

Beware of the "get away from home" effect.

Beware of the "get away from home" effect. Oh, absolutely. Just look at the USC roster women's roster from last year, Clark for Alabama... the list goes on. But A&T is the only school that can boast two Olympic Gold Medalists that ran for the school IN the Olympic year. That's a big deal.

Beware of the "get away from home" effect. i think that's the only issue that a&t can't fulfill for the young man. that is, if he even wants to get away from home. we have a "brand new" track facility, two d1 "top 5" national outdoor track teams (men and women), and two olympic gold medalists to boot. hey, maybe living away from his home (on or off campus) will give him the freedom that he "might" want. i guess time will tell...

I do remember Anna Cockrell mentioning no HBCU even reached out to her. Maybe we aren’t reaching out.

Times were different back then, and I'm sure that some are just saying it to come off better, but I've been seeing a lot of top recruits say HBCUs never reached out to them during the recruiting process. Assumed they wouldn't come. A couple of players at Jackson st were mentioning it during their YouTube series. He didn't come, but didn't we end up in the shaw kid from Grimsley final 3 simply because we reached out early on?
