this tape makes me wonder "who" screwed up powell's shooting mechanics cuz his form in the 7th grade is far better than it is now. he has more of a "sling shot" form now...

Hasn't been picked up yet huh? Out of seven in the portal, one signed with a Division 2 college. We will see how things progress through the summer.

There are about 200 to 300 more D1 men players that will enter the transfer portal (1,433 currently in portal). Most of these players will sit until the portal window has closed unless they are star players (top performers in their respective conferences) or knew for awhile they were transferring. Just like high school, some of these kids may already have multiple offers but are waiting it out to see if a Power 5 school makes an offer. Also like high school, a lot of the Power 5 schools will wait to see who all are available before they swoop in at the last minute and pick the most talented players. They will not risk burning a scholarship early and regret it later when a player that fit their program better enter the portal late. Again, this does not apply to star players.
These players and coaches know the game. Unfortunately, some of these players will lose out because they overestimated their value. Most of the A&T players joined the portal early which was good for them in hopefully forming a good connection with any coaches interested in their services. Because A&T hired its head coach late, we got a bit of a late start in talking to transfer players from other colleges. The players these days are extremely impressionable to where they put a lot of stock in who reached out to them first, big name school, and money (NIL). In summary, it is too early to determine if any of A&T players made a bad decision to enter the transfer portal or how well A&T will do in signing talented transfer portal players.
