Elon posted it football schedule and it battling 3 COVID clusters on the campus(44 new cases last week). It a different approach than Bethune Cookman.

If FAMU doesn’t play, then the divisions go out the window. Play everyone once and call it a day.

COVID cases going up.... Likelihood of a spring football season.....going down
Everything may be all good (or let's just say decent) on the east side of town......but we can't speak on Daytona, Tallahassee, O'burg, or Durham. I'm not being negative, but we need to realistically be prepared that the spring season ain't gonna go down.

Yall know how I feel about all the Doom and Gloomers on this site, but even I am doubtful that the MEAC will be able to pull off a spring season with both football and basketball being played at the same time.
Too many moving parts and not enough room for error. Almost no scheduling windows for makeup dates.
If one school has a outbreak (which will definitely happen) then the entire schedule gets thrown into flux.

How will testing and mitigation work with just 4 weeks to prepare for the 1st game?

The safest place for a student athlete during this pandemic is to be on a college campus. The outside world is like the Wild Wild West right now.

My thing is, the NCAA gave an extra year of eligibility for a reason. It was to NOT PLAY AT ALL and to prevent mass transfers from schools that chose not to play to schools that decided to play. I want to see A&T play like the next man, but A Spring season for what really? It has no point at all if you have an extra year of eligibility in your pocket.

Those that have draft aspirations need to spend this time preparing for the combines.

Well quite frankly I think we just need to face reality and forgo the Spring Football thing, the risks and costs are just too much. The trajectory of COV-19 is spiking too much despite what Drumpt is saying. There will be no COV-19 vaccine in the foreseeable future due to the recombinant features of this virus. To think otherwise is to engage in a fleeting illusion of victory against this virus.

Campbell University got it right: play a limited schedule in the fall, skip the spring.

Campbell University got it right: play a limited schedule in the fall, skip the spring. They really did. Keep your money games if there were no positives on the opponents team nor your own. But ND wasn't about to play us after a long plane ride so I dont blame them for cancelling that one.

And this will definitely change the divisional North and South thing. We will probably go to straight scheduling without divisions. I'm sure they wont be the only ones to opt out. I'm guessing FAMU would most certainly opt out since they now need 2 games and have the most travel. If we go a straight schedule they would have to now go way north for a couple games and that may not be worth it with fan revenue being minimal at best.

Fan revenue? Have they even said that people would be allowed in the stadiums this spring?
I always assumed that was gonna be a longshot.

If everything holds, we’re gonna play all other NASCAR divisional teams twice. our SOS won’t be too bad at all actually as we’re playing teams that will be top-50 in computer polls 4 times.
