Thrilla, you are right because, the conference has no leverage at this point in time and schools have to make independent decisions based on their individual situations. I just don't think there necessarily anyone person(s) to blame. They are making the best decisions with the latest information they have in hand. Well not much has changed since The Meac gave everyone a deadline in November. Which shows A&T can do whatever they want since we got other schools opting out 2-3 weeks before the first game.. What Guidelines? Lol

I wish we had left them hanging three months ago and put together our own spring schedule.

That's because I'm smarter than the rest of yall. We have established that years ago.
At some point, yall gotta start listening to my superior intelligence. That is the next step.

I'll bite, what commitment did we make and not leave without following the proper procedures? a&t is a "founding member", the commitment was to support the conference that it "created". never said anything about not following proper procedures, but did refer to "leaving our partners hanging"...

to make a commitment to other conference members and then leave them hanging, c'mon man! you mean like a&t did? I think A&T said what they were going to do, with significant advance notice (privately and publicly), and is doing what it said. Our relationship with any conference isn't a "Until Death Do Us Part" scenario. Though you harbor some false guilt for our departure from the MEAC, as you can see when other schools get religion they do what's in their best interest and care less about A&T or the MEAC. I take it you think the willy-nilly opt-out trickle down to the last team is Champ is a good look for the MEAC? What we are seeing is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

We gave them advance notice we were leaving the conference. And paid all our fees.
Can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with Thrilla. Should have made an independent schedule and told them to kick rocks

What we are seeing is probably just the tip of the iceberg. given the pandemic, i realize that things can be “unpredictable”. so no, i don’t have a problem with schools opting out. an ncaa d1 “spring football season” has never been done before, “uncertainty” should be expected when you do something you’ve never done before. and ain’t nobody talkin’ bout no daggone advance notice, never said anything about that. however, we are talkin’ bout “leaving our partners” hanging...

It's an athletic conference, not the Mafia. We didn't take a blood oath. If that's the case, we should still be in the CIAA.

If that's the case, we should still be in the CIAA. leaving the ciaa for another "hbcu conference" ain't the same as leaving any hbcu conference for a "pwc" conference. i have no problem with wssu, ssu, famu, or bcu leaving for other "hbcu conferences", ain't the same as leaving for a "pwc" conference. clearly you can see that...

You called this one. I agree. Hail, looking back, we could have had a 4 game fall schedule seemingly without MEAC consequence and been good to go in fall 2021. Getting back on topic, have the MEAC AD's/CEO's met again to discuss the new spring schedule after NSU's departure?
