How do the remaining members recruit? It’s a seemingly dead end at this point. Many of these guys have to be Thinking about entering the transfer portal.

This falls right into Aggie Monster theory that there will not be a college or High School football this season

After looking at the NCAA requirement, the MEAC wouldn't lose its FCS classification altogether if it indeed falls to just 5 football playing schools but it would lose any chance for a AQ spot to the playoffs and quite frankly it would most likely mean the end of the Celebration Bowl, or at the very least in its current format of the SWAC vs the MEAC champions. It would also leave the remaining members in the almost no-win situation of trying to secure an at-large playoff bid for its champion. Essentially everyone left would be treated like an independent. This is what I found and Dennis seem to valid at least seven active members Dennis Thomas

As far as the TP is concerned unless and athlete has NFL level talent and aspirations why go to the TP . Also what is dead end about remaining in the MEAC .

Nothing dead end about staying in the beloved MEAC. The problem is if the MEAC folds and there is no MEAC to be in.

Yes they may have only 7 teams right now and possibly may be down to 6 teams but that does not effect the conference as a whole. The only thing that will effect the MEAC is the NCAA's rule that you have to have 7 team's to qualify for the AQ in football , baseball & maybe basketball as a conference but if the institutions in the conference meet the title 6 threshold they should be alright in all other D-1 required Sports . Also stop trying to kill what is not already dead . Remember they also have two years to reach the 7 team minimum that is required to keep there AQ status .

The MEAC is not dead. There are options for it to remain viable. One simple solution is for UMES to simply add football and for school presidents and AD’s to chose to stay. I am a fan and definitely not in the decision loop.

Thomas is a potted plant as I just watched the zoom conference the Howard prez did most of the talking....
Much different in the SWAC, their commisioner not only speaks but has a vision.....
