Come on ole school stretch yourself, LOL if your goals for tomorrow are not bigger what you achieved today, why do you get up! its one thing to set "achievable" goals, quite another to set "unprecedented" goals... The more I grapple with this reality I think that some are into this Prosperity Theology concept. This is most troubling during this month in terms of our history. This move reminds me of the movie Shaft which saved MGM from financial ruin. Just some of my thoughts on the matter.

no disrespect, but anybody who thinks we can excel at the fbs level needs to have their head examined unless there's an awfully rich billionaire somewhere who's gonna foot the bill for us at the fbs level. if so, i sure would like to know who it is. man, some of ya'll are really trippin' on this big south thing. we can't even keep our stadium grass green, yet we got folk anticipating a&t to jump to the fbs level. omg... I agree with you...we don't have the cash to move up. I believe a lot folks are talking about a future move up to FBS as a way to justify the move to the Big South conference. They keep looking for some logical reason for the move. I believe after a few years of dominate play in the Big South we will get comfortable and start looking for our next move.

I hope we never get comfortable, yet the bottom line is how dumb do we have to be to stay on a sinking ship that we can’t float! What is expected of A&T to fix this broken MEAC ship, according to the masses, we aren’t good enough to beat the best FCS, we are too big for DiVll travel expense are too large, what option is there for the MEAC teams when the ship sinks. They (MEAC Teams) along with a lot of us are talking ish with no future plans! Visualize this, the remaining MEAC folding at the end if the season, then WHAT! Y’all know y’all talk ish about that person driving the Big Mercedes or Jaguar living in the projects! And the people in the projects are talking about them too! LMFAO

No A&T can't fix the MEAC but yet A&T is Expected to fix the BS I don't see the logic in that at all . There is something's that are not being said about this move . You can call me delusional but that OK ; because I hope that I'm wrong . Hell I want to be wrong but something is not being said here .

I think there is a difference in a sinking ship that has financial, academic, student enrollment and membership instability verses a sinking ship that has membership instability. It seems that former members of the Big South had different aspirations than the former members of the MEAC with a lone exception. Looking at the current landscape of the FCS football, as an Administrator would you seek membership in the MEAC or the Big South. For example, does the Big South become a little more attractive to a school like Elon? Not as competitive as they probably would like in the CAA, probably the smallest school in the CAA and probably the smallest endowment. The Big South probably offers a better fit.
I don't understand the belief that A&T's staying in the MEAC will somehow save the MEAC, nor do I share the concept that A&T is the savior for the Big South. The leadership of the respective conferences will determine the success or failure of the two conferences not A&T. To the best of my knowledge, A&T has only one vote and it's my understanding that the A&T's voice on major issues didn't resonate with leadership and members of the MEAC. After a while, I think it's reasonable to say, "Ok, I understand, and it has truly been a pleasure, but . . ." This was not shocking news to the MEAC leadership or Council of Presidents.

LMFAO okay, let me make sure i understand this. now let's see, the meac was first founded in 1970, correct? so if my math is correct, that means the meac conference is "50 years old". it started out with 7 meac member schools in 1970, but now the meac has 11 full time members, 4 more than what it started out with, yet down from 13. now, given that the meac has existed for "50 years", what gives you the impression that its a "sinking ship"? especially had a&t not pulled out. now, on the other hand, take a look at the big south's history? how old is the big south and how stable has the big south been since its existence? the big south has literally been on "life support" for the last 5 or 6 years. yet, you wanna call the meac a "sinking ship"? if the meac is a sinking ship, then why is the big south poaching away meac schools? mind you, they never cared to add hbcu's to their conference before they went on "life support"...
