I dont think Mr. Hardin is clear on the contract specifics of the CB. Yeah I think this was more commentary than reporting. Who cares if his numbers are slightly off, this is a positive article about our athletic program. If I'm not mistaken, this reporter hasn't always been that nice to us. Remember, most HBCU football programs are closed for the winter and our program is getting local and national publicity.

When did our take-home get to be $1 million? It's definitely not $1 million, but it's a nice chunk-of-change.
It is my understanding from a guy with ESPN Events that the Celebration Bowl participants receive $600,000 plus whatever game ticket revenue that they take in through their respective ticket offices...between $200K-$250K. That would put our take this year at around (or over) $800,000.
The remaining $400,000 is split evenly between the remaining conference teams and the MEAC Office. I'm still not clear as to whether or not Coppin State and UMES receive a share of this revenue.

NC A&T, Alcorn State to compete in Celebration Bowl for third time in five-year historyDecember 17, 2019 By Symone Stanley | The Atlanta Voice
The North Carolina A&T University Aggies (8-3) and the Alcorn State University Braves (9-3) will face off for the third time in the fifth annual Celebration Bowl on Dec. 21 at noon at Mercedes Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta. The Celebration Bowl will be broadcasted live on ABC.
Immediately following the game will be a fifth quarter Battle of the Bands show. The fan experience will start at 8 a.m. in the Georgia World Congress Center International Plaza.
“The Celebration Bowl and the MEAC/SWAC Challenge have created a stage that allows the visibility of players,” said John T. Grant, executive director of the Celebration Bowl. “For the Celebration Bowl, we’ve had four players drafted since our inception to actually go into the NFL…and not only go but to play and start in the league.
“So this platform is delivering exactly what we had hoped and exactly what is needed in terms of exposing this great talent.”
The Aggies and the Braves are no strangers to this stage. The Aggies boast an impressive 3-1 record in the Celebration Bowl and earned two of those wins over the Braves. The Aggies come into this year as defending champions while the Braves are looking for their first title.
Last year, the Aggies matched up with the Braves at the Celebration Bowl for the second time. The Aggies squeezed out a 24-22 thriller game that came down to the last minute...

In my opinion, this will be our toughest test in the Celebration Bowl since the very first one in the Georgia Dome. Alcorn's OL is darn good. If we don't get pressure on their QB, we will be in for a long day. They also still have that RB Waller who we know is very talented. Alcorn had a 'spy' on Southern's QB the entire game. I can't remember what his name is but he was the MVP of the SWAC championship game in my opinion. So, offensively, we have to keep Carter upright and control the tempo. I'm not sure what our team's mindset is right now. But, I have NO DOUBT that Alcorn will play the redemption card & their players will be ready for us. They will only be two weeks removed from game contact where as we will have been without game contact for a month. Yes, we've been here before but they can say the same thing. I'm looking forward to a close & competitive game. We should win by a hair but our margin for error is slim... I wanted Southern to win because their QB wasn't an accurate passer and their coach wasn't that good. Unfortunately we got Alcorn and they have a better passing QB and a much better coach. Our defensive line was MIA in the pass rush against better offensive lines and our DBs were (let me be polite) suspect all season! They missed assignments and tackles. They usually let the receivers catch the ball and then tried to make the tackle. Not the best strategy! Since this was our pattern all season, I expect Alcorn to pass on us early and often. Unless their QB's arm gets tired, it's going to be a long day for our defense. As for our offense, I expect Carter will have the same game plan we had a SC State. Lots of QB draws and dink passes. That will keep the ball in our possession and eat up a lot of clock if we don't get behind. I'm sure they've seen lots of tape on Martin and will game plan to bottle him up. that's a "dead on" analysis, i totally agree 100%...
