I understand that they are doing a lot more advertising and marketing for this game in the metro Atlanta area with the goal of getting many more Atlantians to the actual game.
Plus, with two weeks left, we shall see what Alcorn State fans will do. Like us, they are not new to this. Both fan bases expected to be here and we've planned accordingly.

I think that a lot of Alcorns fans will be leaving the reservation to head to Atlanta . I'm makinga prediction over 55K will show for this year's CB . No. 30K at best is what's gonna happen with Aggies and the MEAC vastly outnumbering Alcorn and the SWAC.

On a side note....
The Alcorn BRAVES.... They consider their stadium the RESERVATION......
I can't knock the Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Chiefs, Florida State Seminoles or Washington Redskins without mentioning Alcorn.
The RESERVATION as a nickname for their stadium? That's more than a bit too much when it comes to racial/ethnic insensitivity......I'm just sayin'

Not sure when or how that tradition began but its incredibly insensitive to the culture and history of Native American people.

I’m with us on this one, didn’t see to much from Alcorn in their Championship game. Our defense will get to their QB with ease and stop the run. Hopefully our secondary will come ready to play because I did notice that Alcorn QB has a few targets . If the one that juggled the ball last year is playing I already know how he feel. And for some reason if Noah Johnson isn’t out for the season I think MCNair has been saving him for this game. It’s definitely possible. We have to come out and let Jah takeover, Southern ran fairly well against Alcorn.

Now that we know who we are playing in the Celebration Bowl, I sure hope that our coaches are using this 2-week period to work with our CBs on route coverage AND TACKLING! We know that Alcorn is going to pass a lot; they also know that one of our CB's weaknesses is defending against the pass, and stopping the run. A fear is that once a ball carrier or pass receiver gets past our linebackers, game over if stopping the run is dependent on our CBs...something that we should be concerned about.
THOUGHTS??

We still have issues in coverage, I agree with that part. But I think secondary tackling has been decent since Mac's return. NCCU and Howard were just not a good teams, but the secondary tackled decent vs BCU, Morgan and SCSU.

I am so happy they did not pick us to win. We have to carry a chip on our shoulder again.
With Jermaine McDaneil back I am not really concern about our defense. If our front 4 defend well our dbs will look good because Felix Harper will be running for his life every play.
I am more concern about our Offense coming out flat because of the long layover. TE Lockhard is going to be the key if we utilize him he is a hidden jewel.
You all may disagree but I dont think J. Martin will have a big day unless we find creative ways to get him the ball IE bubble screens or pass him the ball underneath the defense. They are going to have a spy on Martin the entire game.

In my opinion, this will be our toughest test in the Celebration Bowl since the very first one in the Georgia Dome. Alcorn's OL is darn good. If we don't get pressure on their QB, we will be in for a long day. They also still have that RB Waller who we know is very talented.
Alcorn had a 'spy' on Southern's QB the entire game. I can't remember what his name is but he was the MVP of the SWAC championship game in my opinion. So, offensively, we have to keep Carter upright and control the tempo.
I'm not sure what our team's mindset is right now. But, I have NO DOUBT that Alcorn will play the redemption card & their players will be ready for us. They will only be two weeks removed from game contact where as we will have been without game contact for a month. Yes, we've been here before but they can say the same thing.
I'm looking forward to a close & competitive game. We should win by a hair but our margin for error is slim...
