I am so happy they did not pick us to win. We have to carry a chip on our shoulder again. With Jermaine McDaneil back I am not really concern about our defense. If our front 4 defend well our dbs will look good because Felix Harper will be running for his life every play. I am more concern about our Offense coming out flat because of the long layover. TE Lockhard is going to be the key if we utilize him he is a hidden jewel. You all may disagree but I dont think J. Martin will have a big day unless we find creative ways to get him the ball IE bubble screens or pass him the ball underneath the defense. They are going to have a spy on Martin the entire game. Yep, I'm glad they've underestimated us!

In my opinion, this will be our toughest test in the Celebration Bowl since the very first one in the Georgia Dome. Alcorn's OL is darn good. If we don't get pressure on their QB, we will be in for a long day. They also still have that RB Waller who we know is very talented. Alcorn had a 'spy' on Southern's QB the entire game. I can't remember what his name is but he was the MVP of the SWAC championship game in my opinion. So, offensively, we have to keep Carter upright and control the tempo. I'm not sure what our team's mindset is right now. But, I have NO DOUBT that Alcorn will play the redemption card & their players will be ready for us. They will only be two weeks removed from game contact where as we will have been without game contact for a month. Yes, we've been here before but they can say the same thing. I'm looking forward to a close & competitive game. We should win by a hair but our margin for error is slim... His name is Solomon Mohammed and he's a player. If they have him spying Kylil they'll be in for a LONG day! Aggie Pride!

I believe in being confident in winning and we should be. But, we should not take this 2019 Alcorn State Braves team lightly. They are better than the 2018 version that almost rallied from behind to defeat us. They reloaded in the off-season and improved on depth. They have another year of experience and won't be overtaken by the moment of playing in the CB. Yes, some may consider their resume' as suspect with two of their wins coming against D-II competition (Mississippi College & Savannah State) but they are athletic as hail. We must respect them and stay humble...but hungry.

A&T will play Celebration Bowl without key defender Antoine WilderBy Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.com www.greensboro.comGREENSBORO — N.C. A&T heads back to the Celebration Bowl without a key player at the heart of the nation’s No. 1 defense. Antoine Wilder, a senior who has played through nagging injuries much of the season, got hurt in practice last week and will miss the bowl game. The No. 22 Aggies (8-3) will play Alcorn State (9-3) in the fifth annual Celebration Bowl on Dec. 21 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This is A&T’s fourth appearance in the bowl game, a matchup of the MEAC and SWAC champions that serves as a de facto black college national championship game. Wilder, A&T’s leading tackler last season as a linebacker, had five tackles and four pass break-ups in the Aggies’ 24-22 victory over Alcorn in last year’s game. “Antoine Wilder broke his ankle last week,” A&T coach Sam Washington said today during a news conference in Atlanta, “and I hate that so much for him in his senior year. He’s from Atlanta, and he will not get the opportunity to participate in this game, and I’m sad for him.” The big-hitting Wilder helped A&T’s defense rank No. 1 among the nation’s 124 FCS teams in total defense this season, allowing 270.4 yards per game. The Aggies rank No. 4 against the run (76.4 yards per game), No. 7 in sacks (3.2 per game) and No. 10 in scoring defense (18.6 points per game)... www.greensboro.com/sports/college/ncat/a-t-will-play-celebration-bowl-without-key-defender-antoine/article_27dc746b-00af-5fae-87d9-8594df17dbb0.html

Brother Saabman I hope you are right on with this which means they will have to open the upper level. Also hope that Ayantee wins big decisively to set the tone for next year which in my opinion will be not only The Year of Redemption but a raising of the bar for the football program. I like that. BIG and DECISIVE!

Ed Hardin: Celebration Bowl is about more than football for A&T By Ed Hardin ed.hardin@greensboro.comGREENSBORO — It’s almost time for A&T’s annual football game in Atlanta. The MEAC champs are headed back to the Celebration Bowl, a game the Aggies appear destined to play year-in and year-out. No one talks about A&T going to the NCAA playoffs any more. That’s a waste of time and money. The Celebration Bowl pays, and the dividends are about much more than football. This is a national game, broadcast on ABC. The audience of more than 2.3 million in 2018 exceeded viewership of 13 FBS bowl games, the two FCS semifinals and the FCS national championship, according to Sports Media Watch. The Celebration Bowl is about exposure, not just for the football program but for the band, for the city and the university, from the athletics department to the science and engineering departments.
