... however, for some reason we have not offered him a scholarship yet? The kid's name is Richard Monroe IV, he played at Dudley and he has the prototypical size and speed you want in a defensive back. Actually, he could probably play either corner or free safety in our system. www.hudl.com/v/2ABjxaSix foot 2, 180 pounds, first team all state, 3 stars ... he has all the attributes and accolades you want. Plus, I have talked to sources close to his family and they say that the kid WANTS to stay home and play for A&T. It sounds like a no-brainer and it is a no-brainer. Not really sure what the coaches are doing right now, but they need to stop all the pump faking and get this kid locked up ... immediately.

Have the coaches talked to him?

Yes. Multiple conversations with members of the coaching staff.

"if" that link is accurate, it might be his 4.63 forty that's scaring our coaches away unless he intends to play safety...

Tarik Cohen was the fastest A&T player I have ever seen with my own eyes and he ran a 4.42 in the combine.
If Monroe got timed running a legit 4.6 then that is plenty fast enough.

They're probably just doing their due diligence. Wouldn't be the first time they didn't work at a speed not everybody liked. I figured out why Chattanooga offered: gomocs.com/coaches.aspx?rc=866&path=fbOur former o.c. is one of our old coordinators so he knows Greensboro. They have a brand new coach and I'm not sure they even have a db coach though so there is that.

Once again, you can be on CP time when you are recruiting the Tarik Cohen's of the world and your only competition is the Army National Guard. When you are going after 3 star recruits that happen to be first team all state, you need to be Quick Draw McGraw and make sure you dont let a blue chipper slip through your fingers.

Who was that guy you were worried about last year that signed with us?
And how is a 3 star the best db in NC?
My thinking (for what little it's worth) is the staff is in contact with him, they're working things out, and he'll probably end up in the blue and gold regardless of what a website currently shows.
For him to be described as the best db in NC and only have three offers showing on a website causes me to question the ranking and/or the website. I mean, our head coach is a former pro db and has put guys in the league. I trust his judgment and if I'm the kid I'm waiting for an offer from a coach with that resume.
Grades?

Guys like Monroe are fishing. After watching Clemson & Alabama, we likely all would be as 17-year 3-star prospects. Gotta let this play out.

His parents both went to A&T and are great friends. We also tailgate next to each other. I would be surprised if A&T didn't send him an offer. He already got one from Morgan......

Good kid but he's not the best db in NC (#52). I'm biased but my nephew, Garret Williams(#44) is definitely one the best. Sorry, he signed with Syracuse. 😣

For one by him being right here in Greensboro T's coaching staff are already familiar with him . I know when I was recruiting players the first question I would the HC and staff and myself " Is this kid better are can he distance himself from the players that we already have , not so much the starters but all at his position . Now if the answer is yes but . I would say let's address our priorities first . If a DB is not a priority you recruit that priority and work your way back . Also any good recruiter trust's his gut feelings when deciding whether to recommend to the head coach are not recommend to offer a ship . The question I asked is this what are the priority positions that A&T needs the most ?
