[omg! i was at that coastal carolina game and quite honestly, compared to what we're used to seeing the bgmm do at games, it was a waste of funds unless ccu paid bgmm's costs. ccu literally put a "muzzle" on the bgmm's performance, they hardly even played anything in the stands and if my memory serves me correctly, they didn't perform at all on the field at halftime.]
Just a little background on that game...When Dr. Ruff and the band arrived for the Coastal Carolina game they were informed that instead of having 1/2 of the time allotted for their halftime show, they would have less time. Now that doesn't sound like much of a deal but band halftime shows are carefully organized so that you don't run over your time. So the A&T Band went to a practice field before the game and worked on cutting out two minutes of their show. Check the YouTube video and you'll see one of our weakest halftime shows.
When the game started, the few hundred Aggies fans that were suffering in the humid heat couldn't understand why the A&T Band wasn't playing in the stand. During obvious breaks in the game, the band sat silent while fans yelled at them to play something. After the game I spoke to one of the staff that stated they had been issued a "walkie talkie" and were told the A&T Band could only play when notified by the Coastal Carolina Athletic staff.
Don't want to get into discussing this year's decision but just wanted to provide some historical information.

What do yall think will happen once A&T leaves the MEAC in a few years and moves to another conference?
What do you think the game-day experience will be like at those road games? Do you think the Machine will even be allowed to do their P-FUnk routine back into the stands at most PWC venues?
Of course not.

Hold up. Are yall talking about the Coastal Carolina game that Quick started in place of Kindle?
I thought the Machine did their Adele show that game. That performance rocked the house and got a standing ovation, if I remember correctly.

Home games are fine, away games suck and half the time they don’t go. And everybody loses their minds when another HBCU pops up on the schedule.

Well that is about to be our new normal.
Might as well get used to it.
BTW: I have been pushing for more situational snippets from the band for years now.
If you listen to a band from a Power 5 conference school, they play a few bars of music after nearly every first down. It is short and sweet.
It really improves the in-game atmosphere and let's the fans know when to get excited and cheer.

This correct...if you understand the game of football then, you could do something like the Power 5 schools after a 1st down but, they would rather crank up for 5 minutes at a time and we all know that would cause a penalty. If you know the rules, you don't have to be resigned to wait for them to tell you when to play. So, it all starts and ends with us.

Funny thing but during the Jacksonville game, lots of their fans on their website complained about their band playing the same old snippets.

Funny thing but during the Jacksonville game, lots of their fans on their website complained about their band playing the same old snippets. Well then all you would have to do is change up some of the snippets from week to week. Keep it fresh. I would have a few standard ones for first downs and turnovers, etc., ... but maybe introduce a couple of news ones each week for miscellaneous big plays. The main thing is that the Machine would have to watch the action on the field more intently than they currently do now, and they would have to be ready to spring into action at a second's notice. It would require more discipline and focus.

Also, the Machine would still be able to play mini-songs during the game. They just have to be short and sweet with it:

Here's an example of how the Machine could play in the stands and impact the game after a big defensive stop:
Like, I said: you'd just have to be on standby at all times and focused on the action on the field.

Major props to our band director!!! He must’ve minored in meteorology and saw tonight’s forecast from 2 months ago. This game may not even go down. Much paper saved on this one!!!!
