C'mon thrilla, when you @ the chancellor, that's trolling. You've been calling him out worse than Drake did Meek Mill.

I would say right now 2 and 3 are not true until someone can provide facts to prove otherwise. That just sounds like heresay. Let me see the actual correspondence sent by members of the ECU band. The first sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the letter addresses the 3rd point. And that exact thing happened to us the last time we were at Coastal Carolina.

I'm still blown away by that letter. LOL. I'm with you Thrilla. They were better off just not addressing it at all. It is extremely condescending and illustrates that somebody (not sure who) believes that supporting the team is either not the primary function of the band or important to the band's agenda. It is extremely disappointing to know that a 2.5 hour ride to one of the most fertile recruiting areas for our students (including band members and football players) is not considered worthwhile for our band's leaders unless they get to play six or seven minutes on the field. That's a sobering revelation.
We can still put the ball down. We can still blow the whistle and start the clock. We can still pull off another FBS upset.....but boy oh boy does that letter stink. LOL.

How else to do you communicate with someone directly via twitter? If I ask @barackobama what are some book titles he is gonna have in his presidential library, is that trolling? BTW: I also sent an official email to Dr. Ruff last week to see if he wanted to comment on the record about the band's travel schedule. I did so after speaking at length with other senior band officials. I never got a response.

It really sounds like this boils down to "either we get to play a full halftime show or we ain't coming." It seems ridiculous to believe that ECU would not allow our band to play in the stands after we score or during other portions of the game (timeouts or other game stoppages). I too would love to see ECU's policy on that in writing if it is true.....but I digress.

Looks like they got a letter from the front office so everybody could get off the band's back. But the fact remains, they cannot see the forest for the trees

UNC-Chapel Hill, App State and Coastal Carolina dictated when we could play or not play in the stands. At App State we were only permitted to doing our show after the game. Now, when we played app in 1994 we could not do a halftime show but still went to support the team.

UNC-Chapel Hill, App State and Coastal Carolina dictated when we could play or not play in the stands I wasn't at those games, so for those who were, did the band not get sufficient time to play in the stands? Or is it that the band doesn't like the idea of being told when they can and cannot play? No snark....just asking.

UNC-Chapel Hill, App State and Coastal Carolina dictated when we could play or not play in the stands And did we still go to those games or stage a boycott? Did we play at all in the stands during those games? Did we play after all our touchdowns? Newflash: most PWC have rules about playing during game action. Actually, it is the NCAA's rules; they just happen to enforce them. HBCU stadiums are the only places on earth where your band can play a full concert during the opposing team's game-winning drive.

No snark....just asking. not really..UNC does not let visiting bands perform at all and they made an exception for us to only do a semi joint Halftime Show with them. They also put our band in the upper deck of the stadium.

Here's a serious question: does to Machine have a new official policy that they will not go to any away games unless they are allowed to perform a full halftime show?
If that is a policy, then we can debate the merits of it but at least I know they have set the ground rules.
However, if they are just making random decisions on a case-by-case basis, then that is where I have a problem with the band leadership.
