I've jumped to the dark side. My boys play soccer and lacrosse. They've had games cancelled because of muddy, nasty fields. They've also had games still played in inclement weather on pristine turf. These are public and private high schools and county facilities that have this pristine turf. The muddy fields are at vastly underfunded public facilities that don't give a thought to youth sports or at middle and elementary schools (except one elementary school that has turf lol) Why is the largest hbcu competing with underfunded public facilities and middle and elementary schools for field status? Honestly the whole stadium is substandard and should either be left as track only or bricked and concreted over, and very soon. I drove past Morgan a few weeks ago and it's obvious why we no longer seem to be able to beat them. Their facility is smaller but it's been superior to ours since the day it opened. To hell with engineering new grass, we should engineer and manufacture some new turf and install it immediately. Not you Dooms. Lol. Funny how that turf isn't helping Morgan beat anyone else but us. Lol

I went in Aggie stadium on Friday. Grass is growing and getting greener. Very few bald spots.
Looks like stadium is on schedule grass wise

Just say you don't like the color blue. Cause in no shape or form does that look terrible. Not to you…but to me it does 🤷🏾♂️ It’s terrible To each its own I guess, but its a turf field that was just installed by one of the brokest schools in NC. While we have a thread marching on to eventually 100 pages about brown grass. It could be purple and it would look good to me.

Lol Getting beat by Morgan ain’t funny to me at all. Plus if and when they ever decide to really get serious about funding a football program the infrastructure is already there. My boys had a game on a grass field last night. It rained everywhere but the field was green and relatively dry because there was a good crown on the field and the drainage gates were everywhere so it had no time to collect the water before it drained. 🤷🏾♂️

Or did I interpret that wrong.

Just to clear things up. "The Willie Lanier HBCU Field of Dreams Program is managed by the Honey Bear Project, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Field of Dreams Program establishes collaborative partnerships to provide financial support to participating Historically Black Colleges and Universities' (HBCUs) athletic fields." Learn all about it below. Yall will be surprised at the universities that used this.not sure why we havent honeybearproject.com/hbcu-field-of-dreams-program

Well if it’s somebody’s job function and/or a portion of someone’s pay is tied to field maintenance, what happens if you get a maintenance-free field?
If said individual also is given the ability to make decisions regarding how the field will be maintained why would they argue against their own self-interest?
I’m admittedly doing my speculation dance here but it seems plausible.

Field Turf just doesn't require the extreme maintenance that a grass field dose. In my opinion A&T's athletics fields maintenance should be incorporated into the athletic departments budget separate from the physical maintenance departments..i.e Grounds keeping crews. Grounds keeping and athletic facilities field maintenance are to different areas of expertise . On to 70 .

Having been around playing fields with artificial turf since high school, they are definitely not maintenance-free, but require a lot less attention than grass fields.
But still, the unattractiveness of the field on gameday falls in the laps of Hilton and Martin.

Anyone ask what the players prefer?
Respectfully, we’ve had a low number of ACL injuries on our game field correct?
