I'm not proposing that. I think it would be wrong to take a scholarship away from a player who has done everything asked of him, even if he isn't particularly good enough to my liking. All I'm saying is that if 8 players transferred after this year, I wouldn't lose any sleep. We just don't have difference-makers on our team that I see can move us up the MEAC ladder.

I can't imagine any basketball recruit coming to A&T until we hire a strong coach. Who's doing the recruiting? And will the recruits fit the new coach's basketball approach?
Bottom line...we need to hire a new coach now!

But there are better bigs out there, IMO. It won't surprise me to see us run a 3-guard lineup next year. Sent from my LGLS991 using proboards

Durham,
Are we still in the mix for Maxwell from Lynchburg ? He has alot of offers but we were "The first" to offer him back in 2014. He is a talented kid at 6'7 - 6"8.

I know a lot of folks won't agree but overall I don't think we're going to get legit D-I caliber players trying to recruit straight from high school. There's a few exceptions but those kids just don't select HBCU's anymore. To be a competitive program, especially outside the MEAC I think we have to look for D-I transfers.............and I'm not talking about transfers who barely contributed at another lower D-I. Heck, that's like us taking transfers from another MEAC school.

I hope one of them is my guy Travis Fields (5-10, PG Norcom HS, Portsmouth, VA).
2X VA State Player of the Year (4A & 3A) 3X 4A & 3A VHSL State Champion
Just recently completed senior campaign finishing 29-1 with a 30 pt performance in state final including steal and layup to send game to OT and followed up with steal and 15 foot buzzer beater to win it.
He just recently said he will walk on at ODU, bit of we can come correct with some skill scholly dollars we might be able to sway his decision.

I thought someone mentioned he had an offer to go to Radford.... I guess it wasn't a solid one: www.verbalcommits.com/players/travis-fields
