I really don't trust Cy and his assessment of talent; remember Bremers?

I like big guards. These guys sound good, but I'm still worried about how this season will pan out.

But I believe that the recruiting over the last two years has been better focused on the athleticism and skills needed at D1 level. We're recruiting guys to play the position(s) they played in HS as well. That helps the transition go smoother. The one thing that held Deion James back was the time missed due to knee surgery. Based on the aggressiveness I saw from him the other night, I think he's starting to turn the corner as well. Most critically, we're all but done in the fall, which is a plus because we get a head-start on recruiting for 2016-17. That's a big plus.

Sent from my LGLS991 using proboards lol! one thing for sure, bremers doesn’t have the “hops” that these guys have! nor the athleticism. nonetheless, i really think markques houston is the “big pickup” in this class. based on his video alone, i think this dude is a “game changer” and i expect him to have instant impact as a true freshman. i think he’ll compliment hunt extremely well next season and "dj" should have a breakout season next year. looks as though we’ll be set on the perimeter for next season. but as far as post players go, so far we won’t have anybody to replace beckford’s production and that’s a concern...

Bremers can be effective if he's confident in his shot, but the book is out on him and teams aren't giving him space around screens. He chose to do an internship in his native Latvia which was wise long-term... just not good for skill development purposes this summer. I didn't post other clips of Pinkard yet, but he has legit D1 skills at the the 2 spot. Both Pinkard and Houston can handle and create their own offense. Other than Sam, we haven't had that capability in a good bit. Signing them puts pressure on James Whitaker to really step his game up now and as a redshirt junior next year. But that's what recruiting is supposed to do. I suspect the answer is on the roster in terms of replacing Bruce next year... probably somewhere between Deion James, Jamin Lackey and Khary Doby. I agree with you that Deion will probably take the biggest leap between his freshman and sophomore year. Steve Burrough and Mike Owona will have to bring it as seniors next year. That's the biggest area of opportunity, IMO.

I taught Deven Dorsett while he was a student at Norfolk State. I am glad he is coming to A&T. He is the Real Deal.
