Here's the link with the stats. Check it out for yourself. As for Cy, he's probably trying to fight through the personal losses he's suffered. I tried the same thing when I lost my mother and tried to keep going to court and representing my clients well. It simply didn't work. I needed time away. I eventually realized it and left the firm. Coach Small wasn't very successful after he lost his mother either. Some people can work through those things. I'm not one of them. I'm not sure if Cy is or not.

unfortunately, some people don't even consider the hardships coach cy has gone thru over the last year. no consideration whatsoever. i've lost immediate family before and it definitely had a profound impact on me. but hey, some folk only look at one thing instead of the entire picture...

DOOMS I don't think it's coach Cy , I put this on the players . I no people will say it's the coaches responsibility to get the players up for games . But at some point the players have to step up and play with some type of pride and buy into the system. I'm not a coach CY fan but I can look at this team and see that they are not feeling what coach is asking of them like playing defence, playing physical ball . HELL playing good physical defence and stoping people from scoring is more so on the players if they have any type of pride in there game. I just don't see that in most of the players on this team. It's time for the young men to step up and man up if you ask me.

OSA you know as will as I do how the coaching game go's. Their is no compassion in coaching for a coach. Fan's, administration and people in general don't give a flip about what a coach is feeling or his personal hardships. It's all about wins and losses that's it. I agree with you 100% on coach CY . But what gets me is the players . They play with no pride for there coach are their school. It is not hard to play physical ball on both ends of the floor. Defence is a pride thing and playing physical even more I don't put that on the coaches I put That on the players were it belongs.

I respect our coach's recent personal hardships.....
....but do they explain why he got fired at Tennessee State? ....do they explain why he was part of a Texas A&M/Corpus Christi staff that had multiple 20-loss seasons?
He was losing long before his personal hardships over the past year. I'm not saying this to be harsh or insensitive - I'm saying it because it's the truth. This was why I expressed my concerns about his hire 3 years ago. If you look at the overall picture, his downward coaching spiral didn't just start last year. I'm still pulling for him and our team, but the results are what we've all seen. If things don't improve, changes have to be made....

It's not hard to believe........ Look at the coaches we had. Roy Thomas, Curtis Hunter, Jerry Eaves and Cy Alexander. At the time when these guys were selected to be our head coach, were they ever in contention to be a head coach at a DI program anywhere else? Point blank - WE HAVE HIRED COACHES NO OTHER DI PROGRAM WOULD HAVE EVEN HAD ON THEIR SHORTLIST. Some of you all may not like what I'm saying, but all I'm doing is keeping it 100. When you look at things objectively, you'd reach the same conclusion..... Man , I just looked at the link . It is hard to believe. Thanks for the information[/quote

www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/north-carolina-at/Here's our record over the past 44 seasons. We've been over .500 twice in the past 20 seasons. Our overall record over the past 42 seasons is under .500. Over the past 20 seasons we've had six seasons with less than 10 wins. This will be the seventh. We hired Jeff Capel to replace Corbett. He was a great hire (he won at Fayetteville State) but he left after a year for greener pastures. After that we hired a juco coach in Roy Thomas who couldn't get over the hump. After that we hired Curtis Hunter who was already on staff but didn't have a clue how to build a college program with limited resources. After he destroyed the program with our help, we hired Jerry Eaves who also didn't have a clue how to build a college program with limited resources. Now we've hired Cy, who at one point knew how to build a college program with limited resources (SC Steat), but lost something between going to Tennessee State and coming here. My personal opinion (take it for what little it's worth) is that we should be hiring CIAA coaches for basketball, period. It worked with Capel for the short time he was here. Say what you want, the CIAA is a better conference than the MEAC. If we ain't gonna join the CIAA, might as well benefit from their experience. Concur for the most part.

Are we ever gonna get right so we can compete (at least in our own conference), even though the MEAC is very weak. I mean we are 2-12 and our only wins are against D-3 schools. When will people WAKE UP? ? I mean his personal hardships are rough but why must our school continue to suffer as a result of outside factors. Some folks on here I think AND know are blinded by loyalty. In reality in this world the bottom line is what counts. WAKE UP!!!!! Prediction: We will win 6 games this year, if we are lucky and we get some help from the refs. Happy New Year my fellow Aggies and Lawd help us all!!!!!!

But to be truthful and as I stated before if your looking for a coach that is in the HBCU ranks I don't think that you would find any of them on any D-1's short lest. Unless it's to another HBCU. I still think that we should have stepped outside of the HBCU ranks to find A&T's coach from the get go. I hope this is done the next time around. Also I feel we should let coaches contact run out and then really look for his replacement the right way. No deals behind closed doors this time please.

I'm sure we beatthe North Carolina School for the Blind several years so that should count! If we keep playing this bad next year I think we should schedule Hayes Taylor YMCA. With luck we should be able to beat them.

Let's get real. Cy needs to go. Time has passed him by. It is evident he is not relating to the kids. Why waste another year on his contract and be in the whole for another year. This team is not going to be any better next year. A&T can find away to pay him off, they always do.
Take heed from NCCU - who's athletic program has surpassed ours. HIRE YOUNGER TALENTED COACHES WHO CAN RELATE TO THE KIDS.
