On the heels of Savannah State getting pummeled by OKS and FSU and the eve of South Carolina State playing Arizona then Texas A&M. Then looking at us shellacking wvs and upcoming VUL. Whose schedule does the most for team?
SSU has been reported to have taken and estimated $800,000 purse for its 2 round sparring match. What would you estimate our gate will be from wvs and vul

no comparison between us and ssu. we're not eligible to play fbs "money games" due to our scholarship and apr situation. so you can't compare what we're doing to what ssu is doing. two totally different situations...

I agree, but once we are eligible I think most wouldn't mind taking a 400,000 whipping one time per year. Twice is a bit much.

All things being equal, but this isn't necessarily a comparison of programs but more less a question about the level of play of competition and the worth of these "money games" to a program. Does it pay "no pun intended" for the football team to take one for the team(university)
Or does it Pay "pun intended" for the university to take one for the team(in wins)

It seems some just assume that its a beat down like SSS. Sc State has been playing these games for years and losing to USC by 3 touchdowns or so thats not an embarresment. In fact year before last it was 10 - 7 at halftime. Actually Norfolk lead Rutgers at half-time last year.
It gets under my skin when people make it seem SC State losing to USC 38 - 10 is a beatdown. A good FCS team will be competitive but cant keep pace in the second half. We need to stop assuming that every FCS team or HBCU team is as bad as Sav State.
I might be dead wrong but Bethune will play Miami a good game tomorrow.
