i guess runningback coaches make good head coaches. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh_t; and by referencing "chicken sh_t", I DON"T mean the quality of players we had, just the level of experience Fobbs was forced to work with. Now if he doesn't show me something this year (like .500 in the conference), I'll be ready to write him off also!!

It might've been there but Hayes put it on the map, got it expanded, got a field house put behind it, and barbecued pork shoulders out back. It's about time we gave him his due. It's almost like the Color Purple. Ain't nothing we do gone work out til we do right by him. Like I said... NO!

I wonder if we should name the field after Hayes. NO!

I'm the eternal optimist (as my wife reminds me). I know there's a good (even great) chance this (winning season of .500 or better) will not happen... but I can dream, can't I?

A winning team is a record better than .500, right? I say 2007!!

Do we shop for players in Florida? I found this on the MESSAGE BOARD of our friends in Tallahassee. I see some excellent defensive prospects here...TAKE A LOOK. sunshinepreps.net/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/limit,4/limitstart,8/

aggiesjh88, aggiejazz, bornthrilla, et. al., ...I respect your point of view but stand by what I've said. Bill Hayes was one hellava recruiter... he got some good, even great, athletes to come to A&T that enabled him to put some great teams on the field. The problem is, Bill Hayes can't coach...especially if the team falls behind, in most cases. This was one of the major criticisms against Hayes. I use to hear it often while sitting in the stands..."Please don't let the "T" get behind...Hayes is going to blow it!" On a member school's (FAMU's) message board several years ago when they were looking for a coach at just about the same time Hayes was dismissed from A&T, and someone asked if Hayes would be a good candidate for that job and another responded that Hayes, though a good recruiter, was not a good coach and had a reputation for blowing games when the team falls behind. My criticism of Hayes is not mine alone. I would have loved for Hayes to have become the AD while hiring another coach who could coach. Obviously, Small was not the guy, in my opinion. Now we have Fobbs. This is not meant to be ugly, but as the old saying goes, "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken Sh__t". There's no doubt in my mind that most of the young players we have right now will become chicken salad in a year or two. They just aren't ready right now, and we need to recognize that and be patient and give Fobbs a fair chance.

From what I've heard from folks in Greensboro, getting rid of Hackney is the first order of business!!! He is absolutely the wrong person for the job... even on an interum bases. Then, hopefully, new leadership will be more in tune with the athletic needs of my school and the humiliations will cease. Let's give Fobbs a chance. He walked into a very bad situation... two do-nothing coaches...i.e., Hayes and small. Give Fobbs a chance to build... I have a good feeling about this guy.

Yes...and when the commentator said, "I wonder if Coach Fobbs is saying to himself...'why did I take this job and come to Greensboro' "...that hurt to my AGGIE soul... and on national television. How humiliating. BCC... we will never forget!

Yeah...and I'm told that A&T has never gone winless in the school's history.
