man, that's the truth! i'd be more worried if the offense was ripping thru our defense right now because we have one of the top defenses in the meac. now, if the offense is still struggling after about 3 weeks of camp, then i'll be concerned... OSA> Did that help you any yes, i particularly like your write up on how you would adjust if you had practice sanctions. i agree with your comment below and i also like how you would conserve time by not taking water breaks. i wouldn't be surprised if coach broadway also takes that approach... For me I would eliminate one of the light work outs and go 3 days hard (depending on if we had no injures) because I believe a player should always keep his Edge and light work out's only benefit the Offense not so much the Defense.- saabman

With our defense to practice against, The actual games themselves should feel a whole lot easier and feel much slower to the offense.
Hopefully...

For a different reason though(kids like to linger and goof off with free time), so I do it to eliminate that and keep them from chatting with mom or dad who is on the sideline all practice. My take on the reduced hours is it's probably a small irritation, but Broadway's been coaching a long time. He knows all the tricks to cut "wasted" time and maximize practice. With reduced hours you just cut out speeches you normally give and save them for meetings, etc, etc. You also trim down warm-ups to the bare minimum and some of the non-starters get less reps at practice. And if film study doesn't count as practice time you utillize that more then usual. As far as the scrimmmage:Defense dominating is always a good thing. It will help the offense in the long run. Kindle wont see CBs as good as our own much, if at all.

Hi AM: It's all the same...lol To be honest to me your job is harder them coaching the Big boys ;D Man you have to deal with Starry Eyed parents that think their kidS are the next NFL super star, and Mom's that get up set if you yell at their kid for making a mistake and yell at you. And Dads that coach from the stands ..lol I'll keep the big kids ;D Also you and coaches like you are the base builders for all sports Because if you train them right that IS less work that the Middle school and High school coaches have to do But to be honest I would not coach the Rag Rat's ;D I tried it one year helping a friend and it made my blood pressure go up ;D And this one kid and his parents made me so MAD. I WOULD HAVE DREAMS ABOUT WAYS TO KILL ALL 3 OF THEM...LOL It's funny now but I will never NEVER COACH LITTLE KIDS AGAIN ;D ;D

Well I know this isn't exactly a football question but how was yesterday's Fan Fest? Was there a big crowd? What was the tone of the event?

A excellent crowd, a lot more students, parents and families, and the band was on point. A complete preseason report will be coming along with a in-depth video interview with offensive coordinator Joe Pizzo as we re-launch a newly revamped version of Bluedeathvalley.com for 2012 very shortly.
