The season will be hard and the team will be tested but I feel that they will pull through and place higher then 6th place as someone stated. Now as for Spring to me it's know big deal because all spring ball is about evaluating players. That is something that you can work around in the fall. I just look at it as and NFL preseason camp which maybe a learning tool for the talented one that are looking to the next level. You only have a short time to show what you can do so get it done!!

and that's my next question. yes, i'm pretty sure we had practice restrictions last year. but the question is how much practice time were we penalized?
we seemingly managed to fare pretty well last year given our limited scholarships along with the practice retrictions. i'd just like to compare last year's restrictions to this year's to get a better idea of how much this year's restrictions will hurt...

I think that we may have more practice time this year? Because they did give us back some scholarships and it would be unfair to give A&T more Bodies and less practice time!!

I think that we may have more practice time this year? Because they did give us back some scholarships and it would be unfair to give A&T more Bodies and less practice time!! saabman, you're a football coach. so i've got an interesting question for you. this might take a little while, so bare with me. let's say your team normally has 5 practices per week during the regular season. during the regular season, most teams go hard 3 practices per week and sandwich those 3 practices with light workouts/walkthrough's. most teams take the entire day off the day after a game. review game video and have a light workout the day after that. then they go hard 3 days in a row. followed by a light workout/walkthrough the day afterwards in preparation for the actual game the next day. here's my question and anybody is free to answer it, but i figured since you're a football coach, you'd be the best bdv poster to ask this question. (well, monster is a coach too, but he coach's the little guys... ;D) the question is, how would you adjust your routine practice schedule if the ncaa imposed our penalties on your program? you lose 1 full practice per week, and also lose an additional 4 hours of practice from your remaining 4 days of practice. for example, would you go hard 2 days per week instead of 3 days? or, would you eliminate one of your light workouts? or would you do something else that's out of the box? i'm kinda curious what adjustments coach broadway made...

Never had that problem that A&T has but we do this to MAXIMIZE practice time we hold two practices at once! We are on the clock from the time they hit the training room. The late comers run the hold Practice starters are not. We have a no tolerance rule! We also have a saying "IF YOU WONT YOUR JOB BE ON TIME, IF YOUR NOT ON TIME WAITE IN LINE"! After warm ups we go straight in to Drills no water brakes because we have trainers with Fluid bottles on the side lines just like in a game and me run the practice like a game no brakes in between. After Drills we go straight into # One Offense against # 1 scout team Defense starting at the 50yd line in . On the other side of the 50 we have the #1 Defense against the scout team Offense from the 50 in that way the Defensive Coaches are not mixed in with the Offensive coaches so we can focus just on what we both have to do for the up coming game. This way if the # 1 Offense are scout team Offense reaches the red zone we go straight to red zone Offense and Defense and goal line substitutions made just like in a game. This cut's down on the back and forth and keeps the players active. We only call a players name one time and if he is not on the field he go's to the back of the line. Now if I was Broadway I would try to cut down on the back and forth things like water brakes and just have sideline water brakes to MAXIMIZE time to work on other things. For me I would eliminate one of the light work outs and go 3 days hard (depending on if we had no injures) because I believe a player should always keep his Edge and light work out's only benefit the Offense not so much the Defense. We have found by consolidating practice this way you get to see a lot of things that players are doing like taking a play off here are their or not giving their all in drills. Because they know that the eyes are on then all the time. Also this way you can have time to work with players that are having problems with the scheme. I hope that I helped but what works here may not work at A&T.

A&T had a full scrimmage yesterday with officials. The defence still dominated. The offence still has a lot of work to do. Ayodeji Olatoye DB (transfer from Colorado) really looked good. He has quickness and size. Femi Bamiro Fr. QB looked good throwing and running. He still has a lot of work to do before he could be considered Kindle's backup. Darren Bullock Fr. WR and Kevin Francis 6'5" RFr. WR also looked good. They both had some really good catches. Overall they are looking better. I'm just glad they have 2 more weeks of practice so maybe the offence can catch up.

Oh, by the way, D. Grant was back practicing yesterday, so I guess his injury was not serious. The other kid Bryan Houston LB said that his wearing the sling was just a precautionary measure and that he will be back practicing in a few days.

No one person stood out that much on defence. They just look good as a unit. D. Graham DB has been outstanding. He practices as if he is trying to catch up from missing last season. He is working really hard. And so is the rest of the team. They are all working hard.

Now that is nice to hear Broadway is making the most of his time and this is the most important point to look at. The O will come along!! Some times when you have a lot of new targets and faces you kind of lose timing. I feel that by the time the game rolls around the O will be ready. Any way it's not a good sign to have the Offense a head of the Defense at this time of the year/season anyway.
