I just say if you signed to be a pass-catcher (receiver) then catch the ball...dadlammit!

The safety #30 was closing and Raper just did not bring it pure and simple. The pass could not have been any better by Kindle.
And truth be said the safety was late had Raper caught that ball he would have come down in the end zone and never would have been touched by the safety.

Does this warrant the comeback of Larry "Paper"? I apologized and dismissed the nickname after a good game and a half. He's done nothing since. Has Larry "Paper" made a comeback? I guess I'll wait until after SCSU game to determine. Get it together out their Raper. I'm rooting for you.

i'm sure the coaches and the team aren't blaming raper for that drop, but mistakes like that tend to stick with ya for a long time because it would've won the game for us had he caught it.
in high school as a sophomore db, i misjudged an interception with only a few minutes left in the game and let a guy catch a 55 yard touchdown bomb on me that almost clinched the game for our opponents. that play would've haunted me for life had it not been for my teammate who came right back after that and scored a last second game winning 70 yard touchdown run.
so i can imagine how raper feels about missing that pass. he probably replayed it a hundred times in his head, wishing he'd caught that pass.
but, hey. life goes on and you've got to get ready for the next game. i'd really like to see better consistency from raper...

W. Miles also dropped a pass in the end zone on that last series of the NSU game. Warren and Raper were not alone in this situation. Considering his performance in the past years, Raper has shown a lot of improvement in his game. If he continues to improve he could very well be our "go to" WR next year.

so oleschoolaggie what you saying is...you got burned worse than an iron on a pair of polyester pants on Easter Sunday. Just playing! It happens, but you lose that way once, maybe twice but, three times...that's a trend. I don't mean our receivers dropped the game winning td three weeks straight but, in all three games they had some crucial drops that helped our demise. They just have to hang onto the ball with some consistency.

yep, i got burnt pretty bad. its not one of my favorite memories. i remember sitting on the bench right after that happened with my face buried in my hands and my eyes watering up. i wasn't even paying attention to the last 60 seconds of the game, i thought i'd just loss the game for my team. then all of a sudden i heard my teammates screaming "go! go! go!" while i was still wallying in my own pity on the bench. next thing i knew, our rb had just ran a 70 yard touchdown. man, i would've never lived that bomb down had that not happened.
but man, i just hate that i missed our last two games against nsu and famu! that's two games worth of performances that i didn't get to see or hear live. i feel like a junkie who missed his fix, lol. hopefully scsu will stream their game live this weekend so i won't miss another one.
at this point in the season, i'm not pointing fingers at anybody. our team has already exceeded my expectations and i'm just pleased to see that we now have a "real" football team that can compete with any team in the meac. i just have one more "must win" on my wish list before i can ride off into the sunset and hope for better things to come next season.
i'd like a win against scsu, but i'll survive if we don't. but if we lose to central, that's a loss that would have me in the dumps for several days. those are the kind of losses that i have trouble dealing with and folk who know me know to steer clear of me for a couple of days if they don't want to get snapped at... ;D

It is hard to call 5-6 a successful season but IO think we accomplished a lot. Could we have done better? Sure, but we did a lot with what we had. It is amazing what a win against those birds can do after a 4 game slide.
Coaching.......A- .....Brought professionalism and changed the culture.
Offense........B.......Kindle had ups and downs but he kept his turnovers down and showed a lot in the last game w/game management and no turnovers. Remember he has 2 more years. O line had a lot of penalities but opened some holes. RB's....Mayhew WILL be back for another year despite being in grad school. Drake...shows promise. WR......W. Miles, W. Miles, W. Miles. Raper showed flashes and T. Warren "Mr. Electricity"has potential if he can focus.
Defense.....B....The surprise unit this year. (Remember Broadway was a all- ACC defensive tackle at UNC). The front 7 showed uo and made a lot of plays. They used physicality despite being under-sized. DB"s didn't do quite as good. Ferrell made a difference when they switched him to CB. Crosby at SS came on towards the end. Hopefully, playmaker supreme D'Vonte Graham will be eligible next year.
Special Teams....D.....We were short-handed Camacho has an accurate leg within 35yd field goal range but he needs to get stronger on kick offs. S. Thomas had a great game against NCCU but he needs to become more consistent. We did not have as many KO returns as last year but we gave up only 1 KO return for TD.

I think our team is headed in the right direction under first year Coach Broadway. He has done an outstanding coaching job in my eyes considering when he was hired and the number of scholarships available. If we had any kind of depth this year I think we would have won the MEAC title. I give Coach Broadway and his staff a grade of A- considering all factors.

The only issue I have with coaching is: it seemed for a stretch of the season, the opponent made halftime adjustments to what we were doing and shut us down....ie. FAMU. But we still could've gotten points if our guys had made plays. So, I'm not too bent out of shape about that. That's all...so coaching is an "A" for me.
The team responded well all season, getting up for games and executing. We had those few bad plays at the end of the HU, NSU and FAMU games but, all in all the team is fine..."B"
If the coaching and effort stays the same, we win the MEAC next season. But, I think Broadway is going to demand that his staff and team get better. So, I'm excited to see what happens next season.
